I know it has been discussed many times on here before, but I've heard a number of stories about that infamous pre-season game against Rangers in the 70s.

Shoot magazine did a feature on David Platt possibly returning to Villa in the summer of 1995. Imagine how excited I was as a 18 year old who'd been incredibly depressed when he left.

Shoot did another one in April, possibly 1997 - with Platt's head photoshopped on out kits. Turned out to be their idea of an April fool wankers.
