Villa myths
« on: May 18, 2013, 04:17:10 PM »
Moved by Stan's appearance at the Chelsea game, I'm attempting to write a book to support his foundation. It'll be light-hearted random stuff about following the Villa and I thought a chapter on Villa myths would be fun. Could any of you provide examples please? I've remembered one - Ince buying a house in Lichfield, but beyond that have gone blank. Any contributions gratefully received thank you.

Another Doug one. He had Roberto Carlos lined up to buy after Brazil had played at Villa Park. But Brian Little preferred Alan Wright instead!

Shoot magazine did a feature on David Platt possibly returning to Villa in the summer of 1995. Imagine how excited I was as a 18 year old who'd been incredibly depressed when he left.
