He's a football pundit and he made a remark about football.

If people are unable to read that without wishing death upon his family, they really are pathetic twats.

A far better response would've been "yes Robbie, we did avoid relegation. What does it feel like?".

He wasn't a remark about football, in reality it was a dig at the Villa and he was looking for a reaction and he got one.

I'm sure this idiot was likely to have posted provocative comments towards the blue few regarding them buying tickets for Wigan on Sunday, much like I did. I wonder what reaction he would have made if someone mentioned his own family or Petrov?

The thing is, Savage loves a bit of banter, he was probably there pissing himself at the reactions until that one. Much like Stan Collymore posted to blose, olbeyun and wolves last night, its all banter and there to provoke a reaction.

Savage will have posted his dig at Villa to get a response, and he got one, but he then did not have to re-tweet the worst responses. No-one would have seen them unless he re-tweeted them. He was looking for some idiots to respond like the pond-life we all know they are so he could re-tweet them to create even more controversy and get more publicity.

When I hear Robbie Savage on 606, his journalistic style puts me in mind of Jeremy Kyle. The guests/callers might be low life at times, but the patronising/provocative way the hosts speak to their core audience makes me want them to be on the receiving end of a smack in the face.

Savage is a wind up merchant, nothing more. Just as he was as a player (see also Dennis Wise) - they loved nothing more than being the villain and the attention it brings. We seem to have a large number of fans who just don't get this concept and get wound up by it...rather like old women used to with baddies at the wrestling.

Feel free to shoot me, I actually think he's likeable. Nothing he's said about villa has had any significance.

He's no brain but I quite enjoy his experiences of football and I think he was 'unlucky' with his Villa relegation prediction.

I can't stand him. Not because of his football days, just because he's crap. What the BBC were thinking when they hired him, I've no idea. Watching him on Football Focus you soon realise he's clueless, he has nothing to say and just stands there, gives a pathetic comment or two but like Lawrenson, he just looks bored and would rather be somewhere else.

It's obviously easy money but rather than build a career as a TV pundit, he seems to take it all for granted. Whilst I never liked Gary Neville as a player, I have nothing but admiration for him as a broadcaster. He's intelligent, he justifies and explains clearly his thinking; the complete opposite of Savage.

The only reason I can think of as to why he's employed by the BBC is they must have a Welsh quota and he was the only ex-player willing to take the job. The BBC of old would soon have moved him on with his ridiculous, pathetic tweets but for whatever reason, they prefer ex-players that have the knowledge and personality of a slug.

I know its different on here because were all family,

 but if your commenting on football or even just tweeting, everything and I mean everthing you say could be argued that it there to cause controversy, you can take nearly everything two ways
I've no time for Savage, I didn't like him as a player, and think he is a very average pundit, but I don't mind him having a bit of 'banter' about the Villa, its all very harmless
