In fairness, we were kind of a big deal then.   

Indeed we were.  Mother buys the kit of the current European champions for her 8 year old kid.  Happens every year.  To me it's not a massive revelation, it's just a nice coincidence really.

I've always loved the way he talks about the club.  He always addresses us by name and never follows the modern trend of football club managers who always address the club they are managing as "the football club" when talking about them.

His attitude and body language towards the supporters always seem genuine to me, I love that attitude, I really do; which is one of the reasons I desperately want him to do well with us.

I also watched the Football Focus interview.
I assumed it was something about kilts. However having re-watched with subtitles, yes he did say his mother bought him a Villa shirt.
