Did anyone get a photo of the four Villa players bearing down on the Stoke keeper with none of their defenders anywhere near....I'd love to have that in my collection.

I would love to see a photo of Stoke Keepers face at that point!

I loved the look on Benteke's face as he had a quick look to his left to see who he could lay it on a plate for and then must have thought "Nah, I'll have it".

This team is really growing and looking good and the manager deserves a lot of credit for the way he's got us playing and for what are proving to be a number of very good signings. They've all taken a lot of stick on here this season but I really do think the foundations have been put in place for a what will be a decent side.

A really good day out, and very quick exit from Stanley Matthews Way onto the A34 and home in no time.

Just a quick look through the thread has reminded of one or two things. I thought we looked worse when we went to three in the middle. Also, Westwood was superb, that was his best game today i reckon.

What a marvellous  day out that was !
4-0 at half time would not have flattered us, but those big chances just would not go in.
I thought Bennett was massively improved today and Westwood is starting to look quite classy.
But a special word for Delph.
He was immense and covered very blade of grass by half time.
And his reaction to the fans at end with his fist pumping shows he is really up for it. I think we just might be finally seeing the player we hoped for, starting to take shape.

And the fans....well what can you say, the only word....magnificent.

Brilliant, brilliant result.

I was worried we'd fold when they equalised but that was the only period where we looked a little shaky. Stoke looked woeful, esp first half.

Great goal by Lowton and Benteke never looked like he'd miss in his '6-on-1' in the last minute.

Well played lads, well deserved and well done to all those on H&V who confidently predicted a victory.

They've scored 3 in 7, 2 of those coming against Reading.
They've kept 1 clean sheet in the league since Christmas.
Get at 'em, get an early one, fan any anti-Pulis fire, get them feeling the tension. Being away from home will help us after the rather flat second-half against the 'The Mighty Reds YNWA', I feel. Even with our fragility at the back, we must surely score more than they ever can, given the comparative potency of each attack.
3-1 us, Benteke (2) and Weimann, Sturk well and truly dragged into it.

Just to cheer things up even more, tonight Alan Hutton starts against Barcelona. The perfect end to a perfect day.

Just put it on after reading your post to see him bursting through to set up a chance. 1-0 to Barca now though. Turned it off after remembering the Argentine Bannan isn't playing. Barcelona? Meh. A bit 'after the Lord Mayor's show' following the Villa game.
