Wouldn't it be up to the new manager, whenever we get one? Stan is now in his late thirties and in my opinion would be better suited to a training role. Perhaps he needs the money only he knows the answer to that question. Whatever he does I hope he achieves some level of success.
If it's Stan's dream to play professional football again, let him follow his dream. He might not make it, but he'll inspire a lot of people. The man has balls of steel. Good on him.

I'd love the opportunity to applaud him onto the pitch again. It's often said that there is no room for sentimentality in football, but after putting up with the very worst in our history to see a player who genuinely cares about the badge on his shirt would be a blessed relief.
