It's not so much of an issue for me as I'm pretty local but Monday night games are the worst as far as I'm concerned. The problem is I do quite like having the option of watching them on the box when we're not involved. Although on balance not as much as I dislike having to drag myself out on a cold night in January when I've got work the next day.

Are we comparing apples with apples here.
The season ticket holder and the sky subscriber are 2 different animals.
Sky subsribers around the globe may prefer an 8pm kick off. Isn't that the reason international games are shown at 8pm, and world cup/euro championship tournaments/finals, so the arm chair punters get what they want, to be entertained at a time that suits. The season ticket holder is becoming less important.
Get used to it, the TV supporter is here to stay. How many of us now enjoy La Liga on a sunday night or the odd serie A game, we are all consumers, and our favourite brand is Aston Villa flavoured. If you choose to watch at VP or at home, who cares as long as you pay.
The new generation of football supporter can just as easily cheer on Real Madrid or PSG as Villa or Chelsea. Sad but true

If they could at the very least make clear that a game can only be changed within X amount of days at least people would then be able to wait before making arrangements and not have to lose rail/flight fares after being proactive and booking well in advance.

Whilst I despise Sky I couldn't go on the Saturday due to a wedding. I've missed loads this season due to family stuff so i'm looking forward to being able to support the lads for this one. Appreciate its annoying for everyone else though.

It's why internationals and big finals are now on Saturday afternoon. The Monday 8pm game is strictly pitched at the UK market - how often do Manchester United play it?

It would be nice if the club made extra special efforts to fill the ground for this one, otherwise the attendance will be sub-30k for a game we need to win.  Wouldn't bother me if they reduced prices in all areas and made kids £5 or something to help create a decent atmosphere akin to last Saturday's.

I was planning in taking my daughter for her first game, now that this has been changed, I can no longer take her due to how late it finished and going to school the following day.

Almost impossible for me to get to Monday night games because of work and 200 mile round-trip; this will be the second I've missed recently. The viagogo re-sale option simply doesn't work for matches on telly, unless I sold my season ticket for a fiver I couldn't hope to recoup the outlay. I'm seriously thinking of not renewing for first time in 25+ years. With the discounted tickets on sale per game now, there is not a sensible reason to continue beyond blind loyalty.

I quite agree, I have made numerous points about the clubs policy of shitting on ST holders by offering cheap ticket deals nearly every game (see Sunderland) whilst not even considering lowering ST prices but have been accused of whinging by some folk on these boards.  The sad fact is gate money really don't contribute much to a PL clubs finances these days.

Indeed.  It's also why the likes of Barcelona want to shrink the size of the major league top divisions so that they can play Champions League matches on a Saturday/Sunday afternoon.

8pm is a rubbish time to kick off if you're trying to get people in the Far East to watch.  IIRC Monday Night Football was an idea Sky nicked from the US where they've had Monday Night Football for decades.  I think they even had specific 'MNF' cheerleaders the first year it was shown - an Americanism that just doesn't work over here.

They did. They also had bands performing at half-time and firework displays.

And all that didn't work on a cold January night in Bolton?  I wonder if Sky ever worked out why...

If we as fans were to start a campaign is it just the Monday night game we want rid of? I suggest the Saturday lunchtime ko is awful from atmosphere and for anyone having to travel any distance.
Friday nights would be a great idea, couple before the game and straight out on the lash afterwards, and no work the following day, what a way to tee up the weekend.

Friday night would be better than Monday night football. Playing on a Monday feels like you've missed out on the weekend's football. Plus it would be better for shift workers, most of whom have finished their working week by Friday.

If the club don't get more points than Wigan between now and the end of May you might get your wish!
