This takes the piss. Not only have they moved a large chunk of our home games in comparison to our away games, they also stich us up every Christmas freezing our bollocks off at Villa Park, early in evening while everybody else is getting pissed indoors!!

Maybe Sunderland will put coaches on for their fans? Presumably they will want as many there as possible for what could be a crucial match at this stage of the season.

As an aside, I dislike Monday night games, as I do 12.45 and Sunday games, but Monday night especially, as you miss that Saturday afternoon atmosphere when we kick-off so long after the rest of the Saturday programme.

I think moving this game fucks us up entirely - we are shit on TV on Monday nights, at home, the pressure will be massive. Refs and the FA want us relegated. I am sure of it.

AGREE, loudly by the looks of  it, with your first point. Not your second though. That's quite absurd.

It was somewhat tongue in cheek people!

I've binned Sky recently - not because of this but the more general annoyance at paying them almost £1,000 a year.

how much ?   fook

If a sky salesmen went to peoples door and said can you pay your £1200 now for a year , every one would tell them to fook off , saying that is a piss take . It's because it drips out their accounts direct debit and when they think about getting round to get rid , Sky make it so hard for people , like leave you on the phone for ages until you put it down and say I will do it another day .  Tossers

Crazy isn't it.  We started off 6 years ago on a deal where you got stuff half price for 6 months etc, etc and it was about £40 a month with phone, broadband and TV (including sports).  By the end it was up to £80 a month - or £960 a year.  The tipping point was when the broadband router we'd had for 6 years started playing up and they said we could buy a new one for £70 and it was either that or buy a 2nd hand one off ebay because only Sky routers work with Sky Broadband!!!

That tipped my wife over the edge and we cancelled the same day.

I now have four more days of Sky Sports before it switches off and I'm left with BT broadband, phone and freeview for £30 a month.

Our sky router bust last week and they tried the same ruse on us (although they only tried to charge us 30 quid- I reckon they pluck numbers out of thin air). Our contract's up soon and I just told them to cancel it and they posted me a free new router.  Robbing gets.

Home fixtures this season.

Saturday 3pm

Everton
Swansea
Stoke City
Wigan Athletic
Southampton
QPR
Fulham

The other home games

West Brom, Sunday 4pm
Norwich, Saturday 12.45pm
Man United, Saturday 5.30pm
Arsenal, Saturday 5.30pm
Reading, Tuesday 7.45pm
Spurs, Boxing day, Wednesday 5.45pm
Newcastle, Tuesday 7.45pm
West Ham, Sunday 1.30pm
Man City, Monday 7.45pm
Liverpool, Sunday 1.30pm
Sunderland, Monday 7.45pm
Chelsea, Sunday (kick off 3pm I think)

Thats 7 v 12 against 3pm kick offs. We have had only a few away games shifted which dose not suit us season ticket holders at all. It's not as though we are Man United neither.

Dave, what can we do about it? It is becoming a joke and as this thread illustrates many a loyal fan is getting mighty pissed off about things.

I feel really smug. I've never had SKY - never will. Rarely watch football on TV. I love it live and in the flesh.

How many people with the average spend at a Villa game (£35 with grub?) equates to the amount of cash we get for an extra game on'telly?

I'm probably one of the only people who's pleased with this change as I had resigned myself to having to miss this one as I'm away all that weekend. I take the point though, it's a piss take how few 3pm Saturdays there have been at home this season. I usually prefer them although it does mean I've had less juggling to do when I am scheduled to work a Saturday.

The Spurs game was bad. No public transport and the Villa were utter, utter shite.

A quick google shows that the sky deal next season is paying £6m per game, but can't find out how much the home clubs get per game.
Whatever it is I guarantee it is worth more than 10 000 fans and pies.
As an overseas supporter it doesn't affect me as much, but In the past I have spent nearly the equivalent of a season ticket on wasted flights and tickets for 4 people because the same thing happened. Modern football is crap ( except I can watch every game now). UTV

First, stop regarding other teams supporters as the enemy. Campaigns can only work when we all work together.

Cancel Sky and tell them why.
Don't go to the re-arranged matches. Sky hate empty grounds as it makes 'the best league in the world' look daft.
Boycott their advertisers.

If it were organised properly, just the threat of it would have Sky worried. It would be nice to see the FSF do something concerted instead of their regular calls for something that never get followed up.

My son-in-law has been meaning to come to a game all season and finally plumped on this one so I bought a ticket right next to my ST seat this morning and by this evening it's been moved. Now I probably can't go myself as I have to come up from London. I don't suppose I'll get much joy tomorrow when I ring up and ask for my money back - there's probably a clause somewhere saying I can't. Infuriating.

It will hit the crowd for sure, given we got 38k for QPR I'd say we'd have got 40k + for this if it had stayed on the saturday.

1) I've already said it's shit for them that the game has been moved.
2) I don't have Sky.
3) Why? If I boycotted every Sky Villa game it would be pointless buying a ST.
4) That's just about everyone of any note then I imagine. However in the impractical scenario that I decided to boycott thousands of products, as I don't have Sky, how do I know who advertises with them as I don't watch any other their channels because of 2?
