It's also probably the nail in their coffin.  Which will be a real shame...

Are you serious? I can't wait for them to fuck off back to the Championship.

Whoosh!

Still having heart palpitations, what a match. Fair play to QPR they played well, and actually that didn't look like a relegation dogfight game to me - there was too much (inconsistent) quality from both teams.

Thought that the team responded brilliantly second half, and people are going on about the 5 minutes at the end but thank f**k he played 3 in the first half!

Up your Khyber, Redknob.

Three brilliantly executed goals against two slaggy scrambles.

Regardless of where we are, we do not look like a side destined for relegation. Plenty of guts today and some nice play.

I thought the midfield three really galvanised us second half. Really zipped the ball around quicker, fewer backwards passes (you have to have some, but first half was excessive), and pressing quickly when the ball was lost. Much better platform for San Andreas to do his thing.

Guzan MoTM. Not even up for debate.

First half, no doubt whatsoever. Brilliant keeper and the type of performance we've come to expect from him.

Second half I thought Gabby, Vlaar, who had his best 45 minutes in a Villa shirt, were the stand out players. The determination and cutback by Weimann for Benteke, not to mention his snapshot goal, would also include him as a contender for MOTM.
Maybe to be fair we should have an 'Outfield MoTM Award'...so the other players don't feel left out  ;)

In seriousness though, the game would have been over in the first half without Big Brad. Which is why I am opting for him. He also claimed some good pressure balls (as always) in the second. I'd agree that go Weimann was best outfield player though. Little lucky with the goal, but just amazing determination for the winner.

Weimann was very clever for his goal. 2 of their defenders were expecting him to play Lowton back in and had gone over to him. His turn created a big gap which gave him the time to get his shot off and we know he's a finisher.

Not saying they were MOM quality but thought Bennett and Lowton did well.

Despite Bannan getting the usual slaughtering on Twitter, he played some really nice incisive balls to feet. As their second showed though, we still are useless in dispossessing opposition players in midfield. Westwood and Bannan too lightweight in that regard. That's why Delph has made a bit of a difference recently because he will always get stuck-in. Even if a little recklessly at times.

I've realised that Lambert is fucking mental. He's attacking our way out of this mess. Good on him.

It was the Clash of the Gung-hos today. Thank god we won it. Redknapp lost all logic, he thought he could go for all three points by just attacking and left them open to be exploited, especially down the flanks.
