Our attendances go up when the team improves on the pitch. It's always been like that at the Villa.

How does that correlate with the two huge crowds at VP in the last two home games despite us actually being a bit shit all season?

How does that correlate with the two huge crowds at VP in the last two home games despite us actually being a bit shit all season?I would imagine there's a fairly strong correlation between success and average crowds across a season. A few minutes with Excel would show this one way or the other.
Our lowest averages in the last 15 years were 2000 and 2001. We finished 6th and 8th and made an FA Cup final. Of course success on the pitch helps crowds but it's not the only thing.
