Watch the Dawkins one again. He is already stumbling and their guys thigh catches his back leg into his other when the ball has gone taking him to the floor. It wasn't a dive, but wasn't a pen.
I see. I still thought he could've got a shot away and instead looked for the penalty.

Can anyone tell me why Bent got booked? At the time it looked like one of the worst decisions I've ever seen. There was no chat about it on the commentary though.

Persistent fouling I thought. He had pushed their defender several times before then.

When Zog scored it was great to see every player charge over to celebrate with him.

I thought Baker was very suspect at left back
Maybe because he's not a LB. He made several important aerial challenges and defended welll at set pieces.
We are clearly lacking a decent Lb and I was surprised that Stephens was not involved; at least he looks reasonably safe in defence.

Hard to judge the performance itself because we were under colossal pressure to win today. Maybe if we'd got that early goal we'd have relaxed a little but it wasn't to be.

Credit where it's due, we defended the set pieces well enough and it would have been a clean sheet but for the freak own goal. I think Bent makes a difference because his movement is excellent and he drags defenders around, even if the ball doesn't reach him. N'Zog did well and should stay right wing. Benteke deserves a lot of credit for slotting that penalty away under huge pressure. Would like to see more of Dawkins if Gabby is unavailable.

Overall, a monumental win and something to build upon hopefully.

Wasn't great to see Wilkins try and make something out of the fact they did with him but not Benteke.

I wasn't criticising him as a player, I was criticising him as a left back.

Even with those flaws, he'd be my first choice left back all day. Bennett is too raw, Stevens isn't good enough, nor is Lichaj.

Nothing sinister at all. At that point, even for our players, they thought 2 would be enough. It was a sight from the North stand though. As soon as it was over the wall I shouted "It's in". And then looking at the pitch and not seeing one C & B shirt on it as they were all in the corner was tremendous.

I wouldn't be too concerned by the opinions of Mr Charisma himself.

Cheers. I missed the 5 mins after he came on.

On my way back from the game, my God I am a nervous wreck after that. It was a shocking game but fair play to the lads for seeing it out. Benteke must be one of coolest penalty takers I've seen, considering the pressure he was under it was perfect.

With the point we got last week and these 3 we have a platform to build on and need to keep this going.  I fancy us to get something against Arsenal.
