Yes, let's not tell anyone about any of the good things that are happening because our results are shit.
We seem to be top of every fucking table except the one that matters most. Best pitch, best programme, best pie...Shame we are so shit at the football bit really.
Leaving the state of the team and our position on the verge of relegation to one side for a moment...This is a good PR story for the club, and it is good news for anyone with more than a passing interest in the environment. My company is a holder of the Carbon Trust Standard, which means that we have to reduce our carbon footprint year on year.It does mean allot of extra work and we have to look carefully at where we source raw materials etc... but in terms of the environment we recycle our wood waste on site, burn it and create heating for the factory, offices and water. We also store all the rain water on site for use in the toilets, these are just part of the operations we do.We also have products that have a carbon rebalance donation attached, this donation goes toward helping poor families, elderly people to better insulate there homes, reducing there energy usage and cost and thus reducing the carbon emissions.Anything that can be done to provide a better future for our children and grand children should be applauded.
I remember a story puffed by Janet Street Porter when she was editor of The Independent On Sunday that she'd made the business `carbon neutral'.How the hell a business can be carbon neutral when its only product is a kilogramme of disposable newsprint, I don't know. Maybe she'd bought a few energy-saving lightbulbs or something.
