I agree with all the above. What's the website thinking running with this tripe rather than an alternative 'we're fucking relegated/Faulkner is a ******' headline?

Yes, let's not tell anyone about any of the good things that are happening because our results are shit.
That's because when things are as shit as they are it's hard to see any good, still our carbon footprint will be the envy of the Championship I'm sure

The amount of methane released on the Holte End each Boxing Day is enough to bust a hole in the ozone layer the size of... the size of Wales

Indeed the FA award for carbon neutral footballing clubs competition along with best set of accounts competition is where we compete now, pardon my forgetfulness, there was me thinking we competed in the playing football the winningest competition.

I reckon if you started a thread about ants or Algeria or bras it would still turn into a whinge about Lambert or Lerner within 3 posts. The arguments are all so well rehearsed we don't need to be reminded about them on every single bloody thread. How about leaving the odd one for other thoughts to be posted?

Faulkner And Lerner say very little these days, so i'm guessing the sum reduction in their verbal shite helps.

Leaving the state of the team and our position on the verge of relegation to one side for a moment...

This is a good PR story for the club, and it is good news for anyone with more than a passing interest in the environment.

My company is a holder of the Carbon Trust Standard, which means that we have to reduce our carbon footprint year on year.

It does mean allot of extra work and we have to look carefully at where we source raw materials etc... but in terms of the environment we recycle our wood waste on site, burn it and create heating for the factory, offices and water. We also store all the rain water on site for use in the toilets, these are just part of the operations we do.

We also have products that have a carbon rebalance donation attached, this donation goes toward helping poor families, elderly people to better insulate there homes, reducing there energy usage and cost and thus reducing the carbon emissions.

Anything that can be done to provide a better future for our children and grand children should be applauded.

Hopefully many other institutions, football and otherwise, will be well on the way to achieving this status.  As Tesco's once said "every little helps".

but is it a future worth having if Villa have been relegated?  :D

obvious joke aside I really can't believe so many people are being negative about this, it's as if some of you believe that faulkner was given a choice between being carbon neutral or being a decent side.  It all comes back to the "we're not winning so everything at the club is shit" mentality that seems to have developed in the last couple of months.

This is a very positive story, at a time when there are a lot of negatives around the club, it's absolutely right for the club to publicise this, and be very pleased with themselves.

I remember a story puffed by Janet Street Porter when she was editor of The Independent On Sunday that she'd made the business `carbon neutral'.

How the hell a business can be carbon neutral when its only product is a kilogramme of disposable newsprint, I don't know. Maybe she'd bought a few energy-saving lightbulbs or something.

You have to look at the whole bisiness to generate its carbon footprint, this would include:

Energy
Travel [work travel and the travel of workers to and from work]
Wastage generated
Raw materials [Each would have its own carbon footprint dependant on the same catagories, energy, travel etc...]
Delivery costs [fuel, what type is used and how much]

The Carbon footprint of a business is greater than might be first thought
