How much do you think he can spend?

I find it hard to believe that he's been given millions to spend in January and is just sitting on his hands.

Personally i believe at least £10m.for two or three players - possibly £15m max i would think .

I think that's pie in the sky to be honest.  Not a chance.

Well risso we will know by thurday - lambert is choosing not to spend it.

Why on earth would he do that?  As shit as he is, I can't believe he actually enjoys the current situation.

Eastie, you seem convinced of this, and based on what I don't know.

But I'll wager that the reality is you know as much as I do, ie. sod all.

Thats fine leeb - he has said it himself countless times -

Manager Lambert has money to spend during January on possible newcomers and believes club owner Randy Lerner's investment in Villa should not be underestimated during his six years in charge.
The Villa boss said: 'I always speak to Randy. I've always had a good relationship with him.
'If you look at the years he's been here, I don't know how much money he has put in but it's a lot of money.
'If a couple of players come in during January, then great. But you can't fault Randy for what he's done for this club, that's for sure.

'January always gives you an opportunity to bring people in.
'We have conversations all the time and it would be wrong for me to say there is "X" amount available.
'You can work with what you've got and if one or two come in, then great.'
Lambert remains confident Villa will survive and preserve their record of 25 successive years of top-flight football.
He said: 'Do I still think Villa will be safe? Yes. Because? I just do. I said that from day one. I just do.

There's nothing to suggest that Lambert wouldn't be spending if he had a reasonable amount to improve the team.

We all know the purse strings have been very much tightened for years now, how people have come to the conclusion it's Lambert deciding not to spend is beyond me.

Maybe Warnock going will lead to some action. Sometimes these things happen in a sequence. As for the meeting, they may speak everyday for all I know.

We all know the purse strings have been very much tightened for years now, how people have come to the conclusion it's Lambert deciding not to spend is beyond me.

Maybe because he sat on sky tv last week saying it was his decision not to spend so far .

The Villans currently sit 17th in the league, but the 43-year-old is insistent he will only sign players who he believes can improve his squad.

“There is a chance of no signings at all,” he told reporters. “There is also a chance you might try and get someone in so it works both ways.

“We’d try to do something if I thought the people we could get in would make it better. But if we can’t do it and I have to go with the group that’s there, then I’ll go with what’s there.

“What I don’t want to do is fill the place with people I’m bringing in just for the sake of bringing them in.

“It’s the wrong thing to do for this club. It’s wrong if they’re no better than the ones who are already here. I have to bring in people I think will make a major impact.

He said: "That's the decision I've made. The football club has been in relegation battles for the last few years. This isn't just new on them because they've been in it for a few years.

"It's something we are trying to rectify in a different way and we will still go that way.

Problem is with Paul's methods.

We need big, strong, young and experienced player with sensible value and sensible wages demand. but from what he want to pay

1. He need to buy aboard
2. He can't get the experienced player
3. Everyone know how desperate we are for players.
4. Players might have high wages demand to put Aston Villa off as they don't want to join a sinkinig ship.
5. Players might not be available

If he is choosing not to spend it then he choosing relegation instead of survival. Bloody strange choice don't you think ?

Assuming Lambert does have some money to spend I agree it is only worth spending if it is on players who will improve the present squad.
If we are saying that every player across Europe who could be presently available to us is of the same or lower standard than what we presently have then they must all be of a shockingly low standard.

Agree dan, players should have been in long before now - too many huge points being dropped - risky strategy - all this "we wont go down , we"ll be fine " stuff is highly dangerous because i sure as hell cant see what he he seeing.

He's started getting this one in of late, I've noticed. A bit of back covering while things are crashing down around his ears.

Seems that way , getting in the excuses in preparation , when he says weve been in relegation battles the last few years , we have only actually finished bottom half once in 5 years .
