Me too. I think this is much more a stubborn scot not wanting to spend and prove he is right or get value for his £, than an tight American refusing to spend.

Also, I imagine he will see spending as conceding defeat on what he has spent already. He seems to have dug himself a hole.

Dunno, it is just a feeling from watching the way it has gone this month. Not a huge amount, and that may be hindering who he wants, but I reckon he could get a couple in.

If we lose against Newcastle how his position remains tenable is beyond me.
