During the WM thing today, Doogan was arguing that the current run isn't quite as bad as people are making out.

He pointed out that last week, we went to Albion and got a point, "and we took a two goal lead".

What he doesn't seem to realise is that the Albion match was an absolute text book demonstration of the weaknesses that have got us where we are.

Decent first half? Check.
Got ourselves in with a chance? Check.
Concende early goal in second half? Check.
Go to pieces after, eventually end up hanging on for a point? Check.

The very fact that getting a point at Albion is lauded by one of the senior management of the club as evidence that, actually, we're all wrong, it's not so bad, speaks volumes.

It's like they think a point every now and then is enough, that you don't have to actually WIN matches.

I understand the thinking behind Doogan going on air and answering questions, but for me, all he did was demonstrate just how much of a reality distortion field the upper management of the club are operating within.

It'd be laughable if it wasn't so utterly depressing.

Dear god. Against my better judgement i'm listening to it. We've got a club totally populated with mini-Lerners. Yes-men every one of them.

Just listened to it. We are in real trouble. That was a horrible piece of defensive shite.

At West Brom “we actually did very good football” and I listened to this three times to make sure that was what he said. He comes across as Martin O'Neill's guileless little brother.

I wouldn't listen to it on principle. The principle that it would be unmitigated shite.

Just listened to it and I'm so depressed, Lerner is our Ken Wheldon.

This guy Doogan is talking complete and utter shite and yet again sums up the state of affairs.  They put out a PR person (who doesn't sound very good by the way) instead of a football person to answer fans questions.

His logic is akin to that of an 8 year old.  We're completely fucked.

You can hear the incredulence of the supporters that are calling in in their voices - you just cannot reason with idiots and this is a very good example.

I thought the callers generally were good, albeit not allowed to get into a decent argument with robot man. The most telling moment is at the end... 'maybe next time we will do it again with Randy Lerner' ... no answer... 'oh, he's gone'.
