When you think about the amount of 'never lived up to their huge potential because of attitude' players we've had over the years, we've really had our share haven't we? Milosevic, Curcic, Collymore, Baros, Atkinson, Ireland, N'Zogbia... have I missed anyone?

Hendrie?

2 of those scored goals in LC Finals that we won. One of them Won a Derby.
I still think NZog is the worst culprit.

Yes, they did. And which of them do you think had as good a career as they could have (which was the point I made)?

If you're referring to Baros, he actually won two derbies. Can't argue with N'Zogbia being the worst culprit on the grounds of longevity alone.

Milosvic went on and did well in Spain for. Few years, Curcic was a complete basket case, Collymores head came off, Baros flattered to deceive and had and like refuelling, Atkinson was exceptional at times and lost his way, Ireland was our best player for a period but obviously has issues. Nzogbia is a complete and total waste of space.

Maybe my memory is worse than I thought, but my recollection of Atkinson would never be of him under-achieving. Very entertaining player. That goal against Wimbledon in the rain was probably one of the most memorable goals I've ever seen us score, along with the McInally length of the pitch one.

I would class the likes of Luke and Steffan Moore as underachievers. Probably Vassell too unfortunately. Shame I really liked those three and wanted them to do well.

He was top quality. Him and Deano were the ideal partnership.

Sociedad sold him to us because they were fed up with his behaviour. He left us in 1995, aged 27, what should have been the peak years of his career. After that he only played another 34 games, had 6 different clubs in 5 countries, never played for his country.

I seem to remember a story about Brian Little saying to him that he hadn't scored for a while and asking what was up, to which he replied 'yeah but did you see my goal in the cup final' (that is a vague memory so I stand to be corrected!).

So, as I said, none of them went on to fulfill their potential. I don't quite understand what you're arguing with.

For the remainder of his contract i'd tell him to stay away from Villa Park and Bodymoor Heath. Don't pay him off early though.

I thought he rejected being paid off, preferring to stink out Bodymoor Heath.

I'm not sure that I'd agree with Milosevic. Nearly 250 goals across a 15 year career, over a hundred caps for his country and top scorer at an international tournament.

I think when we had him as a 22 year old he'd have considered that a solid career.

Can we pretend he's a new signing?

Yeah, you might be right on that one.

Reckon you can definitely have all the others though.
