It doesn't really matter what the snow's like today as it can be cleared. Tomorrow morning will be the tester.

I never knew the Hawthorns is the highest ground in England, always though it was Boundary Park, it was like the Arctic Circle up there.

Boundary Park in 87 was the coldest I have ever been at a football match.

and me  and very depressing too

We won.

sorry Dave , I was thinking of The Cup game 3-0 ,  got it wrong , the later one and it was the coldest for me  .  I actually left early as I had enough and then could not get out of the ground car park as the Oldham fans had blocked us in and we had to wait for them to come out all laughing at us through the windscreen , horrible night .

Aston Villa FC - Official
Villa v WBA injury news:
Paul Lambert confirms Ron Vlaar is available for the clash. Richard Dunne and Darren Bent are hoping to train this morning. Full update to follow.

Great stuff. If the game is delayed, we might even have more time to get them all fit.

Bit of experience back in the squad which is good.

And where is the 'experienced' cover if Vlaar gets injured again? No sign of new players joining. Still, ''we'll be fine'' ''Aston Villa won't be relegated'' Quote: Paul Lambert

Lawrenson has picked us to lose 2-0. I am feeling much more positive.

Id throw Vlaar , Dunne and Bent straight in .   We need them.    Not that he will.

I didn't say it would save us, I said it would help. We need new players everyone knows that.

Put Vlaar in. Give Bent and Dunne some minutes in the cups and start all three against Newcastle.

We need to win some of our home games.

I remember at league game at the Hawthorns around 84/5.  It was sooo.. cold.  I had about 3 jumpers, my hat, gloves, scarf and thick coat on.  But was still freezing.   I do remember on villa fan who was wearing just an open necked shirt and one of those thin leather waist length jackets, completely unzipped  He was swinging back larger on the terrace.  I remember thinking he must be hard.

Vlaar should be straight in, Bent a second half sub as long as there is a tactical change to give him something to feed on but save Dunne possibly for Millwall or even Newcastle to give him more time to get fit.
Looking at the weather though I think they might all get longer to get fit.

Not many left injured now, only Albrighton, Herd and Gardner, maybe Given? If 4 guys had to be out, I'd probably hand pick those 4, the reserve keeper and 3 others I personally wouldn't have in the matchday squad if everyone was available.

Can't see it being on to be honest, pitch might be OK but it will be down to the walk up to the stadium and if it will be safe. Planed on going on the train. If off though will give us more time to be prepared for Tuesday
