We have to beat them but it doesn't escape the fact that this has been a disaster.

Should have shut up at 2-1 and taken it on the chin. The game was too open and we were all over the place, chasing an equaliser cost us.

Yes we should have, which is why i said in the pre-match thread that i would have brought another midfielder on just after we scored. The way the game was going, had there been another 10 minutes left after they scored their 3rd, they probably would have gone on to score a 4th or 5th.

Was the atmosphere for Blackburn '10 not memorable at all? Looked and sounded good on the telly.
No one is mentioning that and with the demise of terracing, Tranmere '94 seems an apposite comparison in scoreline only.

The atmosphere against Bolton 04 was good as well and we nearly did that. We need to not get on the players backs even if it's still 0-0 at half time.

Just watched the highlights on AVTV and on another night we would have been out of sight after about 25 minutes. That's sometimes the way it goes in football, you miss a couple opf chances and then start worrying that they could be costly. This was compounded by their gift of a first goal. One likes to think we will simply have too much quality for the second leg but with a 2-goal advantage to defend, their mind set will be one of 'they shall not pass' determination. Not over-confdent but it's do-able. Terrific prospect for the neutral football fan I imagine - not for us long-sufferers. I'd rather be there but I might have tio watch it on tv, being mid-week.

I see Gabby saying we'll bounce back in the second leg on official site. Enough of this bollocks, we've been in a downward spiral for a while. The players want to show they're up for it, do it on the fucking pitch.

Ireland was the most experienced player on the bench and while he's understandably not everyone's cup of tea, he might have kept hold of the ball and been an extra body in the middle when we needed it.

The annoying thing about Ireland, at this stage of his career and with his talent, he shouldn't even be on the bench. If he had fire in his belly for the cause he should be indispensable to the team at this stage. I thought that this was going to be his season, with the paucity of experience and talent in the squad he should be driving the team forward. These lads are making too much money too soon and they forget their focus. I'd include Gabby in that.

And where the hell were Herd or Holman?  Sat at home in Birmingham?

They must have both been injured because they did'nt play against Ipswich either.

If fit, we need Herd in the middle of the park to sit on that baldy that ran the game for them the other night - shutting him down willl allow our ball players to create the chances.

Nothing has been said about them being injured by the club and they're not on the physioroom injury list.Yet Marc Albrighton and Bent are both on there.Maybe PL felt they both needed a complete rest as neither have been great of late

5..really ?

3 corners (avoidable if not defended properly)...and one effort from open play that hit the bar is my only recollection of Bradford's chances....it says it all that the Bradford goalkeeper was man of the match.

we did not defend well at all, but I could not see them scoring until that corner for the first goal fell perfectly to the lad who smashed it in brilliantly.
