If we are to pull it round - we need Hutton, Warnock and Vlaar to start in defence as any players we bring in are likely to be cup tied.

Didn't even clap the fans. Cherry on the icing on the cake.

Sack every member of the playing staff and management and let's start again like Glasgow Rangers and/ or United FC with people who really care about playing for the founders of the football league, the once proud Aston Villa.

Hurt, embarrassed, devastated and other superlatives.

Wankers and c*nts the fuckin lot of them.

I would think that the players probably thought the last thing the fans wanted was for them to go over and clap them. Gvien that they were being booed off.

I would think that the players will have felt all of the things that you were feeling, and more besides.

I'm not part of the Lambert Out faction, but I do think that at some point this month, if the play doesn't improve and we aren't taking points in the league, Lerner will probably give him the flick. In fact, barring some unexpected results against Southampton, West Brom and (sadly) Bradford, I can see Lambert going straight after the second leg.

A bad night, no mistake.

But!

If you had to stand on the drop floor to the sharks like a Bond film.

Would you stand on the trap door:

Wembley or The Sharks (lose the semi after VP game)

I know where I would stand.

WEMBLEY.

We don't need fucking Hutton and Warnock, we need people who can lead and set a good example.

Suggestions?  Who won't be cup tied.  If this defence starts the 2nd leg, Bradford will score, it will happen.

Embarrassing but not totally surprising, this is how Villa do it. Tactically we were ridiculously open and in my opinion should have gone a solid 4-4-2. Weimann has to play as a striker, he is natural. Defensively a shambles yet again. The captaincy is not helping Clarke and should be taken off him. Who should be capt? That is a major problem - we don't have one.
Strengthen quickly or we will go down.

We can still turn this around however. UTV

Agreed, people can't take the players not clapping the fans (although Given and one other did) as a sign of disrespect. As you said they probably thought they were doing us a favour by clearing off.

I hear you, but I'm afraid I doubt it. If I did feel that they cared as much as I do it would give me a modicum of comfort.

What on earth do people expect? We're at half time in a cup semi-final. We've had a shit first half but with some composure could easily have been winning by the same margin ourselves.

I take your point, there were several things we did well this evening, and should have had the game out of sight.

I can't speak for anyone else, but for me, it's not that we're 3-1 down halfway through, it's that the same problems which we have seen for a chunk of the season are still there, even when we're playing a league two side.

I can totally live with not reaching the final. Yes, it'd be embarassing, but then again, I'd back either Swansea or Chelsea to have enough to beat us in any case.

It's not that I am worried about, it is that this trajectory of increasing shitness in midfield and a defence who look like they've never met each other before is going to continue to punt us down the league and into the Championship

Defend like we did for the second and third goals - and that's what we've done most of the season - and you get relegated. There's not much getting away from that.

I'd agree with you. It's difficult but the only way to become successful with the model that Lerner has decided on is to stick with the manager who has a proven track record at it.

There is a lot of pain being felt right now, for good reason, sometimes though you just need to go through it.

@AvfcMysteryman: @AVFCStupidlee as I have been saying the ice is thin and Randy is not going to take this! That is why no money for Lambert

You know what, that's enough.

Say what you like about Lerner not investing enough over the last few transfer windows, if Lambert can't get a better performance out of  these players than that, he should fuck off. And take most of these players with him.

100% agree
