Who thought a long ball game against a division 4 sidewas the game plan needs shooting.

No midfield so no back 4 protection or help, no wonder they look under pressure.

Bannan - Get in your expensive motor which we've paid for and leave. I dont care where you go just f**k off out of OUR club. Playing with 10 men would be more effective.

OK while i'm on a roll champioship here we come.  Dont know if the southampton thread is open yet but another beating is coming and i dont see how lambert is going to change it now, confidence is shot completely.

In defence of Lambert we started both halves very well, clearly the instructions he sent out to the team were working as we should have had 4 goals at least in that time, it was about two minutes into both that we suddenly collapsed and played like a conference team

In 1994 I felt the 4th goal of the game in the first leg was crucial.  I feel the same tonight.  I have no confidence whatsoever that this team is capable of turning this round.  That in itself is shocking.  On their local radio, they were actually taking the piss and saying this was a weakened Bradford side.  And as for Lambert, this is the first time I really do question if he is right for us.  He is frankly tactically inept, starting Weimann where he did was ridiculous given his goalscoring form, Bannan is awful, Benheskey dire finishing and Bent had a 'my wife could have scored that' moment.  Nzog is utterly frustrating.  But it is patently obvious to anyone who has functioning eyes that the 4 blokes at the back are simply not good enough and need to be replaced.  I am in Vienna for the 2nd leg and I thank Christ I am.

It is his team though, he chose this squad, it is not good enough and a third through the transfer window and he has still not addressed the obviuos problems

Who else would you have put in the squad?

A third? I suggest you do some maths. In addition, it's not that easy to just sign players.

Was tonight good enough? NO. Is it the end of the world? NO

What on earth do people expect? We're at half time in a cup semi-final. We've had a shit first half but with some composure could easily have been winning by the same margin ourselves.

Aston Villa 2012/13 are a laughing stock, a disgrace, cannon fodder for everyone else.

We may have had more possession than Bradford tonight but they had the heart, desire and they competed.

Words cannot describe the way I feel tonight. This is worse than i felt when walking out of Stamford Bridge. If Lambert is as inept in the dressing room as he appears on TV every week after another loss then it's no wonder that we're going down and going down without a fight.

Utter wankers all of them. Every one who put a Villa shirt on tonight was a fuckin disgrace.

We lost to Bradford who were playing Barnet at the week end.

Shame on you Lambert, shame on every player tonight. Fuckin wankers.

Marry me.

I want emancipation from this team :-[

We had enough chances to win tonight and in a one off game at home against div 4 opposition we'd expect not to concede and get at least 2 of our own.

This changes nothing of course. It's now Bradford's tie to lose.

Even on a fairly uneven surface we should have better ideas than lamping it up to Benteke and hoping for a break. There were too many players in the team with less desire than their counterparts.

it was no coincidence that the player who got our goal was one of the few who consistently wanted to get to the ball first.

Sod Coutinho, Svengali and uncle Tom Cobleigh. We need better presence in midfield, a left back and either Vlaar back or a centre half.

Maybe the best plan now would be for us to club together, buy Bradford City and disband the fuckers. It won't help us get clear of the bottom of the table though.

I take your point, there were several things we did well this evening, and should have had the game out of sight.

I can't speak for anyone else, but for me, it's not that we're 3-1 down halfway through, it's that the same problems which we have seen for a chunk of the season are still there, even when we're playing a league two side.

I can totally live with not reaching the final. Yes, it'd be embarassing, but then again, I'd back either Swansea or Chelsea to have enough to beat us in any case.

It's not that I am worried about, it is that this trajectory of increasing shitness in midfield and a defence who look like they've never met each other before is going to continue to punt us down the league and into the Championship

Defend like we did for the second and third goals - and that's what we've done most of the season - and you get relegated. There's not much getting away from that.

Didn't even clap the fans. Cherry on the icing on the cake.

Sack every member of the playing staff and management and let's start again like Glasgow Rangers and/ or United FC with people who really care about playing for the founders of the football league, the once proud Aston Villa.

Hurt, embarrassed, devastated and other superlatives.

Wankers and c*nts the fuckin lot of them.

In the lobby waiting for them. No sign of the coach so far. I would have cancelled the rooms and got the fuckers straight back to Bodymoor Heath now.
