How we laughed two years ago. The Blues had just lost at West Ham after a Foster blunder in the first leg. They turned it around at the sty.

No reason we can't do it (except the relegation bit)

ok here's my take on it. Its down to Lambert. If we are not playing with confidence, you have to make sure you don't come away with anything less than a draw. So Its a div 4 side. Play 4 at the back and 4 in midfield. 2 up front. That way even a 1-0 defeat sets us up for the return leg. Don't under any circumstance leave our back 4 exposed. So make sure we have at least 6 defensively minded players on the park. I wouldn't count Delph, although I thought he was our best player, he was at least trying to hold his position and not just play the long ball. Nor would I count Bannan as defensively minded. So I think we had the back 4 and the rest was attack. The thing is 3 of them were in a strikers role and CNZ as a natural wide man or behind the strikers. Now we should have passed passed passed ans passed. The only real option for Delph and Bannan was the long ball. Teams like bradford play like that every week.  Secondly the long ball, with no midfield following up, all second balls were picked up by the 7 or 8 Bradford players against our 4. Trying to win it by 3 or 4 away from home, which I think he was looking at the line up, well frankly it wasn't going to happen. They were only likely to score from set pieces, which they did with ease. Now what we are left with is a much harder task at VP, which I think we'll do. But the confidence will be shot once again. So PL In my opinion its down to you

We can also forget the farcical comments about playing kids. These ain't kids, they're generally 22+ & have been pros for a good few years!

The defence and midfield absolutely are kids and it showed. Noone's played more than 50 games. None of our back four had played more than 10 premier league games in their current position before this season

Aston Villa 2012/13 are a laughing stock, a disgrace, cannon fodder for everyone else.

We may have had more possession than Bradford tonight but they had the heart, desire and they competed.

Words cannot describe the way I feel tonight. This is worse than i felt when walking out of Stamford Bridge. If Lambert is as inept in the dressing room as he appears on TV every week after another loss then it's no wonder that we're going down and going down without a fight.

Utter wankers all of them. Every one who put a Villa shirt on tonight was a fuckin disgrace.

We lost to Bradford who were playing Barnet at the week end.

Shame on you Lambert, shame on every player tonight. Fuckin wankers.

Mate text me after the match saying, Tranmere Rovers 1994. Difference is we had a bloody good side then, not a bunch of kids and no marks, barely good enough for the Championship. A total embarrassment. Feel sorry for anyone who paid to go watch it.

It's true that we are much worse than the '94 team, however it's also true that Bradford aren't as good as that Tranmere team. If we take our chances better than we did tonight then we still have a chance.

22, 23 + is still pretty young, especially when the average age of your team is under 24.
You know if they're good enough by that age.

DON'T CANCEL THE HOTEL ROOMS!!!  WE WILL BE PLAYING ARSENAL ON THE SATURDAY.  For what it's worth, we need an experienced left back, centre mid, centre back in the window along with a striker if Bent does one.  Otherwise we'll have an extra hour in the pub to be back home in time for that football league show on BBC 1.

Well that was beyond pathetic.

I've backed Lambert up until now but after that shit he's surely only got a couple of games left to save his job. The same bullshit, time and time again, culminating in getting beaten by a team in League 2. Buy some fucking players, sort the defence and midfield out or fuck off.

The Tranmere comparisons are irrelevant.

The big difference between that squad & the squad now is experience & quality. Especially when you consider the fact that the 1994 team only a year before were challenging for the league title.

At Liverpool and Swansea the defence somehow managed to survive the first 20 minutes when they could easily have conceded 4 or 5. We then managed to get our game together and got 2 good results.

Against Chelsea and Spurs our defence looked likely to be breached with every attack and, having gone behind, and as we tried to get back into the game, both teams got the space to tear us a new one. And as for the Wigan game......

One thing is for certain. We need to bring some experience into our defence, particularly the middle, and if its not going to be through the return of Dunne and Vlar then it needs to be via the cheque book.  On the flanks Lowton is just about acceptable but Bennet looks to be a liability and its no surprise that a lot of the goals against have come down our left flank. I agree with those that think that even Warnock would do a better job at the moment - and that's saying a lot.
