The good news, the club has a plan: We have those flags to wave for the 2nd leg. Priorities, priorities...

FFS why do I care so much when to all extent and purposes the players and the manager don't appear to?

The chairman certainly doesn't. He's the cause of all the problems at Villa, and has got away with murder over the last 3 years while the managers take all the stick.

The players are poor, no doubt, but they don't appear even remotely organised, either. They're all over the place, all over the pitch. That's a coaching issue, and that's Lambert's responsibility. They're not improving in any way I can see, and in fact are getting markedly worse. That's Lambert's responsibility, too.

I don't think he's a very good manager.

Sadly, the comparisons with Pubehead are close to the truth, he only has Plan A - Gung-ho!

I can't understand everyone wanting to get rid of Lambert.... get a grip he has had to change the whole team.

Did you think we were able to do that without severely encountering major issues?

I doubt fans will give him the time he needs for the major overhaul. So lets replace him get a quick fix but not actually progress is that the answer?

CNZ - absolute wanker.  Thinks he's Messi when I reckon I've played against better players on a Sunday morning.  PASS THE FUCKING BALL YOU GREEDY TWAT!  The quicker he's got rid of the better.

I hope I never see him in a Villa shirt again. A complete and utter twat!

He was behind pretty much all our best moments and was the only player to look Premier League standard in my opinion.

Embarrassing, we just lost 3-1 to a division 4 side!

No passion, guts or determination.

And Lambert looks like he has not got a clue, I can see a defeat on Saturday on the horizon

For me, Bennett isn't good enough. Had their keeper not played a blinder, and Benteke had his shooting boots on, we'd have won comfortably. They scored totally against the run of play, and held it to half time. We should have scored again whilst on top, but didn't. N'zogbia was very lively. Thought Bent unsettled the balance of the team when he came on. Weimann is worth his weight in gold. It's only half time.
He didn't play a blinder.  He made two or three routine saves.
I thought he did. He'll need to have another in two weeks.

We are the whipping boys. I didn't think we could get worse than last season but we are. Its depressing that there's no revival anywhere in sight.

Not sure where we go now. This club is going down. Shocking management, shocking players.

I am thinking Bent is down with a groin injury, although it looked like he was holding his knee. He took a shot in the groin from the defender when he went up for the header and the announcer was talking about him being embarrassed.

The worst players tonight were Bennett Bannan and Benteke.

They all failed to do the basic job they are employed to do.

Bennett can not defend or pass

Bannan can not pass and gave the ball awway all the time

Benteke had gilt edge chances to score and he looked disinterested

Never seen so many poor performances and I could talk about how bad each player is.

However, I will pick on Delph.

As far as I can see, he can't do the following:

Tackle
Pass
Run
Position himself correctly
Head

He can do the following:

Get booked

I thought Hutton & Warnock were bad, but I'd happily take Warnock in midfield over this twonk.

I agree, I found those comments very odd. He was our standout player by an absolutely mile

Bet the Southampton players are as excited as the Bradford lot with the thought of playing us on the weekend

I bet Millwall can't wait either.
