I really don't think it would help the cause to have our old captain loitering around the place to be honest. He considered himself too good for us, and that would send out the wrong message, and god knows we don't need any more mixed messages.

If I've ever had to help someone I've known for a while out or a mate ive never thought of it as charity, just something you do because you can.I hope the same as applies the other way roundIf he needs the facilities a few friendly faces around to help in months of recouperation ahead I would hope we would help out, no matter what he does or where he goes afterwards, that's what good people/companies do

I'd be disappointed if we don't at least offer it. It's up to Vlaar what he wants to do.

That's fine, but then don't moan when players only look out for themselves.I really don't care whether he thinks he can do better than us or not, he picked up an injury whilst he was still our player and it means he's unlikely to sign for anyone else until he's fit, it costs the club fuck all to help him out and let him use the facilities so if he wants to then why not? It could mean that when he's asked about us by other players he says how good we were with him when his contract finished and that could be the difference between a player joining or not. The only reason I can think we wouldn't make the offer is as a bit of a 'fuck you you didn't think we were good enough for you' and I'd really hope our decision making as a club isn't based on petty bitterness.
