In many ways, the first 20 minutes were the worst of the season.  We seemed totally devoid of confidence, quality and energy.  The last 10 were marginally better but only because we've started to go long to Benteke.

I'm not sure how, but Lambert needs to earn his wages this afternoon because if we lose this it's freefall time.

PL.  Westy for Ireland.

The problems run deeper. The whole shape is wrong.

urgh Villa, urgh. Fucking dreadful performance. Much better second half needed, but the defeatist in me thinks we'll lose by even more. Forest losing in Mcleish's first game. I don't really know who is worse, him or Lambert. How I wish we were good.

At least Benteke's winning more in the air. Perhaps we need to a bit direct and bypass our featherweight midfield. A couple of half chances have come that way.

Lichaj has been pretty good to be fair Herd should move to the middle and have a solid 4 defence.

Right I don't really know where to start, but Westwood on for Herd and a 4-4-2 will do.

Who will play in central defence or should we just do away with it?

We are awful.

Slight improvement for the last 15 minutes, but that was mostly sideways passing to stop Wigan getting the ball.

Wigan have had almost 60 percent possession. Terrible.

Are bookies still accepting bets on us going down? May as well soften the blow.

Awful for 25 minutes, then suddenly woken up. We can still win this if we keep the intensity up. We all know we are poor, but the last 15 minutes of the half showed that they have grown in confidence a little.

At least with Bennett I've seen him go past a man, I've never seen Lichaj do that he's shit. Herd is massively overrated by some Villa fans because he came in with a bit of bite last year, but he's fucking rubbish as well. Awful, end of. No excuses this is shit.
