We must buy a centre back ASAP in January. And possibly a forward now. And a midfielder.

Well the only positive is that somehow we're not losing. Other than Westwood(who hasn't had a good good I know) all the midfield may as well go, because they're not good enough.

Me too DJ

In fact, I think I'd bring Lichaj on at right back, with Lowton in the centre. Herd doesn't look like he's at the races at the moment.

Amazing we;re not losing,  Worrying that PL doesn't seem to want to change things when we're so obviously second best.

The first 25 mins were as bad as I've ever seen us play.  We started to press a bit higher and looked marginally better.  Not good enough.

How is it 0-0?

Fifteen corners to our one? Something like sixteen attempts to our, one or two? Any time we attack we are offside.

Still, getting to half-time 0-0 after such an onslaught is good. We can improve, they haven't much else in the locker. We do need more experience and a bigger squad though.

Be a miracle if we can keep a clean sheet if we have to go through another 45 minutes like that and I can't see it changing.

That would be very good result today! Still, there were promising signs at the end of the half there, as Spurs seemed to be falling into a bored stupor.

Our main problem is pretty clear - too many of our players are simply not good enough, and we are way too over-reliant on youth.

I can see what Lambert is trying to do, and sometimes it pays off, but if you look at the cumulative results this season thus far, they suggest we're really not very good.

My big hope is that Lerner and Faulkner don't think we can just sail through january, maybe throw a few more lower league players in, maybe a Morrison, second string attacker from another mediocre side, because if they do, then I think it is going to end in tears.

They've absolutely got to back Lambert with money, and he's going to have to get some experience in, because, although we don't play Chelsea every week, and we won't get embarassed on our own pitch by Spurs too often, we also don't beat anything like enough of the shit sides, either.

On the plus side it's unlikely we can be that bad in the second half. Delph, KEA, Ireland you are playing for your Villa careers.
