Anyone think we should wear an all white kit for the away leg? Bradford have odd colours which seem to clash with everything.

They would think they are playing Leeds and up their game.
Actually, it's a good job Leeds didn't get through and draw them. Would have sounded more like an airport than a semi final clash.

It would be a nice idea. How collectible would that kit be then!

I haven't been well this week and wasn't really online that often.

Obviously thrilled with the draw. Over one leg it would be a potential banana skin but we should win over the two legs. Also I genuinely feel we can take anybody in the final. On our day we can be unplayable as we saw at Anfield.

In the telephone queue for 19 minutes but tickets booked for a match 6 miles away.  Oh what luxury!

As I've said so many times on here, easily my favourite away kit of all time, would love that, extremely evocative for me

Going to Highbury in 77 for the QPR replay was one of my greatest Villa memories - no money to get in, for food or a drink, relying on the generosity of fellow Villans and then a hat-trick from Sir Brian -  the best of times...

I'll never forget that match.  Didn't Doug graciously concede London advantage to QPR after the drawn two legs after the spin of a coin which fell out of sight or something and I think it was the QPR chairman (Jim Gregory??) shouting "It's heads, it's heads". to which Doug is supposedly to have said " if you say it's heads Mr Gregory then it's heads and we will play in London".  It may not be true but, it's in my head for some reason.  The old adage Revenge is a dish best served cold comes to mind.

Highbury holds so many good memories for me, we may have been turned over a few times but when it mattered we delivered there.

I thought the story was that both chairman claimed to have called heads, but we acted with class.

Thanks Dave, I knew I wasn't dreaming this its just that time is now begining to play tricks on my memory.  I still remember the match though and hopefully always will.  It's etched as they say.

What was cup replay we had at coventry in the 70s - I think we won 3-0 but can't remember who against , was it palace or qpr.?

28/10/78 Villa 3 (Gray 2, Gregory) Palace 0  LC3 2nd replay at Highfield Road. Att 25,455. We went out in the next round 2-0 home to Luton.

Cheers for that !

Yup, Burridge was in goal for them and got pelters, which was unfair given his efforts for us.

It has been discussed elsewhere, but the attendance that night was higher than Coventry's average home gate. There were probably 1500 Palace fans there max too.

this was the game that QPR seemed more intent on kicking Croperly whilst Sir Brian danced his dance, yes happy days

You sure, Legion?  We thought, or rather hoped,  we'd count as wings.
