Who suggested bringing Albrighton in? Shocking.

That would have been me.

I just think the team needs a bit more width. We play that narrow, we're not giving oppostion full backs any problems. If we can stretch them from time to time, then that in turn makes room for the likes of Benteke. Albrighton did'nt do much in the time he was on but we looked a bit more balanced.

Albrighton is a busted flush- I agree we need width but not from albrighton, I would rather see Carruthers given a chance , he looked confident and was prepared to take on and beat players in his cameo appearances last season.

Albrighton has not delivered for too long now - not good enough !

Don't rate Albrighton at all sadly, he should be in the squad let alone the team.

I thought Albrighton was going to be the next big thing if you look at GH's season he made quite a few goals but that player looks to have evaporated, He's crossing was shite when he came on yesterday as well

Bollocks.
We'll get right up their noses from the off, hush the crowd, score on the half hour and then run away with it 5-0.

I do like Albrighton, and Lambert seems to like him as well. If he could get back to the player he was he'd be a decent option to have coming off the bench but it's up to him to work at it though.

We do need width though. One thing we did tend do overdo a bit last night was lump the ball up to Benteke in the hope he'd win the headers, which is fine but i don't think we should rely on it.

I can only see a qpr win here I'm afraid, would be brilliant if we could win 2 in a row but I just can't see it 2-0 to them

It's all set up for 'wheeler dealer' Harry the Spiv to deliver their first win of the season. Would really love us to shatter the media hype that will surely follow this game but I can't see us being strong enough.

Really need Vlar, Bennett to be available and Bent MUST be on the bench. I think Lambert is showing a bit of MON's stubbornness in not putting him on the bench. No one can convince me that we can afford the luxury of having a proven goalscorer in the stand.

QPR were apparently garbage last night and matched only in their awfulness by Slumberland.

I watched the highlights and I thought they actually looked decent. Passed it reasonably well, quite solid and strong in midfield. But a bit toothless up front.

When was the last time that Villa stunned the media by rewriting their script?

From memory, we 1) save every career of a player who has not scored for decades or 2) manager who has not won for centuries and 3) we ensure that every opponent who needs to break a record claims it against us.

We did take Spurs from behind, amidst the hullabaloo about signing Ardiles and Villa, but that was in 1978. (Great night, when they literally had to shove their ticker tape up their arse-nal.)

Your analysis is perfect. Your solution may be correct, but Lambo has to coach Albrighton or find some other way of using the wings. It is a source of astonishment that MON is Lambo's mentor and yet he has never apparently watched any Villa games from 2007-9, which were all about fast counter attacks down the wings.
