Just watched the game, Bannan, Westwood, Lowton & Beneteke were superb!! really like Lowton pick of PL's signings for me, although this Benteke chap looks the business a very Drogbaesque performance today from him.
Much needed 3 points, triffic, I'm absolutely delighted tonight :)

Great result and  a deserved one by the sound of it. The day made even better by Small Heath losing to the bottom team .

Love it. Such a sweet victory. I'd absolutely love to see Sunderland get relegated this season.
Good to see Gabby score his first Prem goal in nearly a year. 2 in 2 games now and hopefully he kicks on because I think he and Benteke seem to be gelling.
Benteke is hitting form at the right time, and hopefully it'll carry through the December period as well.
Promising from Westwood. Perhaps he'll offer us something we've been lacking in midfield. We seemed to control the midfield better than normal so I'm hoping we've struck a better balance. Bannan needs to play this well every week too.

Good stuff though. I hope we kick on. Good to see us win a game and be pretty comfortable at it too.

Fell asleep waiting for MOTD last night. Watching this morning I am struck by the resemblance between Alan Shearer and a sunburned glans

Lovely image. I'm glad MOTD impressed you so.

The Guardian has Ireland as the MOTM.
I gather Westwood played well but have not seen enough footage to comment.
Clark is picking up too many yellows.

Westwood was my man of the match. Looked comfortable, his passes found their man (and he passed forward too!) & tackled well without ever looking like getting booked.  Benteke pushed him close for my man of the match though!
It was  great atmosphere in the Villa end too!

Sounds like a piece of luck! Imagine the dreams engendered by that image if you hadn't missed it last night.

How did Westwood play?

In my opinion he played very well indeed, I questioned what Lambert saw in him after a few games but he looked the part yesterday.

If weve learned one thing from yesterday it should be that Gabby never does a post match interview again.

Post-match interviews are complete waste of time and very rarely anyone says anything interesting or insightful.

Just from the R5 commentary and MOTD sounded like Weimann caused some problems with his movement and had 2 good strikes?
Sunderland message board describing Benteke as "all over the defence like a rash" in the first 45 minutes.
Goal was very well worked.

I think we also learned that it looks like Gabby is doing a Movember this year!
