I don't know why everyone is slashing their wrists.
We had the chance to vent our spleens on Tuesday night, but no.
We gave them a fucking standing ovation for another fucking defeat.

Well said Andy.  Should have booed that idiot Lambert to within an inch of his life.

What got me was, in the lower holte against newcastle, some bloke stood up and held a banner (couldn't make out what it was, but i doubt it was pleasant) and the blokes to the left of me went fucking nuts at him. The level of aggression was astonishing, we were about 10 meters away from him, and it pissed me off. I'm not one for booing, but if he wants to hold up a banner for a bit, whether it helps or not, then fucking let him.

Simon Dawkins has been a very, very good player in the MLS - and the MLS is more or less the standard of the Championship. So, he's come to the right club.

It's not that i have anything against this signing (mind you, if he does well for us, once more we'll have the honour of polishing a rough diamond for Spurs), it is the signings that we have not made.

I can't believe anyone can look at our squad, as demonstrated over the last dozen matches, and not see the screamingly obvious need for a bit of experience in the middle, at CB and possibly at LB, too.

All we've done to address those needs today is buy another lower leagues player (from a different country, mind), an attacking mid / forward, and get shot of one of the left backs we already had.

We've done nothing, absolutely fuck all, to address the weaknesses that have been so obvious for weeks.

I am honestly utterly, utterly gobsmacked.

Well, we're fucked.
A Second Division Frenchman and a 25 year old non-league failure on loan.
Experience needed to keep us in the Premier League and this is what we get.
Resign now Lambert and sell up now Lerner, you have made Aston Villa a laughing stock.

Perhaps Lerner has a numbered bank account in Lichtenstein and a shell company in Musselburgh - no that is a silly joke - in the Bahamas called Holteite Holdings Inc and when the present club is sufficiently devalued he buys it back off himself for a fraction of its true value. Huge tax loss, club totally purged of parasites.   Then he could go again as somebody once said.

You're in a plane and you see it's heading towards a mountain.nothing to worry about its miles away. It's getting closer so you ask the pilot what he's going to do. 'Nothing, we'll be fine'. It's still getting closer, maybe pull back the stick. No need, we'll be fine. What about jettisoning the fuel? No need we'll be fine. Accelerate, that'll help you gain height. No need we'll be fine. It's right in front of us, get the parachutes out. No need... crunch.

Impressive stuff.

Unfortunately, the only defence anything like as bad as the average MLS one that he'll encounter in the PL is ours.

I agree. It's been a white flag of a transfer window from us. Saying publicly how little money we have all the time has surprisingly not made us an attractive prospect for players.

Not true, it's definitely got better over the last decade. Even in 2010 I'd have agreed with you, but it's made very big strides the last few years.

It's staggering negligence. I want to make it clear I have no problem with Sylla(right sort of player) or Dawkins(wrong sort of player) it's not their fault. However our ownership and management is just completely fucking hopeless.

Its difficult to comprehend that a previously highly rated manger as Lambert would choose to address our problems in such a way.

Perhaps he's been dropped on his head?

The next home game will be very interesting, as soon as we go a goal down Lambert will learn what hostility is all about but there is a guy that will be sitting in the stand should get heaps.
