On Tuesday night we applauded the second half performance of the players in that that game.

This thread is not examining the competence of the players it is examining the competence of Lerner, Faulker and Lambert in deliberately declining to address the player problems we have and effectively forfeiting our Premiership status for reasons we are at a loss to understand.   It cannot be straight profit and loss accountancy.   The bald truth is that the fall from the Premiership will cost the club at least three times as much as it would cost to bring in players to enable the club to climb clear of danger.

He's selling Brian i can feel it in my bones.

There must be some other motivation for Lerner and Faulkner doing nothing.  Not knowing what is driving them is what is causing all the angst on here.

We are the envy of what used to be called Fleet Street and what now is called blogging. 616 pages of copy, word count TBC - all about nothing worthwhile.

Um, so we needed steel, experience and know how and we've got a young lad a never was?

I'm appalled.

Can we at least allow any new signings to arrive at Bodymoor Heath before we decide they're shit?

We seem to have resorted to calling them shit even before they sign

Would rather have Sylla and A N Other than Zat Knight, Curtis Davies or Nigel Reo Coker who I seem to have been reading about for 500+ pages

dont think peopel are saying they are shit , they are just saying a signing like this wont keep us in the Prem , wrong position for a start.

This joke just isn't funny anymore.

Heaven knows we're miserable now.

I think this transfer window really does confirm that Aston Villa FC is skint.
And, if that wanker of an owner does not want to invest anymore to protect his investment, he deserves every piece of bad luck and financial loss that comes his way.
We as fans, do not deserve it.

It's obvious that we are content with relegation. No fight on the pitch, in the dug out or boardroom. Complete joke.

So what's the general consensus on Villa's moves in this transfer window?

I can't be the only one who was reminded of this following our club's work today?:

One other thing about Simon Dawkins - didn't Lambert say he wasn't going to get bodies in just for the sake of it or something similar ?

yep. Apparently the world's oldest youth player is a key part of his plans

Lerner has made mistakes, I find it hard to criticise him too much though. He's given us alot of his money.

Lambert spent horribly in the Summer.

How the fuck can we be so skint? it makes no sense. Sell up Lerner, do the decent thing and do your best to find a buyer.
