Money available for transfers needs to be spent - i don't get this " wont spend for the sake of it "stuff from lambert, the team is weak and there are loads of players he could get to strengthen - scharner would have been perfect for starters.

We dont want to hit 11 pm and say well there was £5m left but we couldnt find anyone suitable to buy.

Yet if Lambert can spend £5m, or whatever, but only add £20k a week to the wagebill, that does tie his hands somewhat.

Just seen this on twitter.com/wilch4

Hopefully we sign Danny Graham. Then we can have Sylla and our Graham! #avfc

I'm holding out for Hangeland.  That would make it a good window and be a better move than Scharner.

The one thing Scharner would have brought is versatilty. He can play midfield as well as centre half. Hangeland would be good though and quite cheap i would have thought.

Right eastie QPR might well stay up, but their spending means that if they don't they will go under. I want Villa to spend, but it needs to be sensible. Just because QPR have rich owners now doesn't mean they won't just walk away. I'd rather we signed a couple of players for sensible fees and sensible wages and survived if we went down, rather than spend an insane £12.5 million on Chris Samba and gave him over £100K a week and folded as a club if we went down.

Exactly. Redknapp is doing the only thing he knows and that's stupidly spend his way out of trouble.

Either Carragher or Hangeland would be exactly the sort of player we need. One of them, a left back, and another midfielder to be on the safe side and I'll be happy enough.

Relegation would cost the club many times what a few million today could - we must get players in to give us a chance of survival.

Oh and by the way Samba will be on well over £100K, he was on that in Russia and was being charged a lot less in terms of tax. He'll be on at least £120 K, whihc is utter madness.

We will see how stupid when they stay up and pocket the multi millions in tv rights.
He is bringing in some quality players , cant fault him for that, . Samba and remy will improve them greatly.

Carragher played (and played well) for Liverpool last night. Surely the only way he'd consider a move right now would be if he wasn't getting a look in.

TATA?

Rumours from where?
It would be JLR as our sponser.   My source via India reckons its in talks.

Now that would be beautiful.

Too good to be true.

I don't care. I'm believing it already!

We think TATA to take over? Or just JLR as sponsor?

Is Scharner a really good player now then? When did that happen? Always thought he was below average to be honest.

Carragher won't leave Liverpool. He'll be there until he retires.
