Anyone who had a heart would be delighted by this news.

I sat wondering what this meant for ages before the penny dropped.
*doh!*

Is anybody going to do, 'step inside, love'?... what you do when the attacking player does a tricky little spin and tries to get past you.

I think the problem is less Lambert's signings, more that the experienced players (Gabby, N'Zogbia, Bent, Ireland) have not stepped up to the mark and that too much belief has been given the existing young players (Bannan, Herd, Lichaj, Clark). Bannan, Clark and Lichaj are a bigger problem for me than Westwood, Lowton or Vlaar.

Certainly seems to be that the younger players we are buying are better than most of those we have produced from within.

Lowton started well but does look like he has suffered shell shock recently.

I rate Westwood.
I do too. But we are not playing a passing game anymore so it is pointless playing him. He has offered nothing in recent games. I'd have Delph ahead of him at the moment.

Pat Murphy said we've paid £2m for Sylla, who's a six-foot, very physical DCM, and that there's at least one other "iron in the fire." Let's hope so, but it's good news at last!

Is that a hint Diame 's on his way from West Ham?  ;)

Too late! needed reinforcement prior to Wigan, Southampton and Newcastle at home. just hope we try to play a little more respectable football.

He has some experience of relegation battles Clermont are only 2 points above the relegation zone.

TBF, pretty much half the table are. Their main issue seems to be lack of goals rather then conceding almost 50.

I agree that some senior players have not delivered (Ireland, Bent) whilst others have been asked to do more than they are ready for or capable of (Bennett, Bannan, Lichaj, Stevens), but for me much of Lamberts selections / tactics / formations have been at least as much to blame for our current predicament as the players themselves. It is negligent in the extreme to continue with a 3-4-1-2 formation that the players are not capable of playing or confident in & has seen us concede goals like never before. Even if we get players in tomorrow, without the right tactics we are not going to improve.
