Obviously Lambert banked on Dunne being fit by the end of the transfer window so as to prevent recruiting another centre-back. Surely as this ''gamble'' has now back-fired there must be a Plan B or other contingency plan? Or are we gonna be "fine"?

"We"ll be fine , we wont go down, i just know it , ive known from day one, we go again  " blah blah blah

Sorry Monty, he has had to have more groin surgery - that is what I was referring to.

fit I think he walks into the side!

There may be some money there, but I think the biggest problem we have is convincing players to join.

Yeah, that really sucks.

Ok, centre back from Scandinavia and a midfielder from...well, Scandinavia would be fine again!

The tweet from a journalist said he had to have more surgery but might be wrong - quotes from Lambert saying he needs a week to see if it settles.

Closing in on 500, do we get there with a dab into the leg side or a lofted drive over mid off?

As fans we always want money spent in the transfer windows, it's just part of our desire to see a continual improvement in our team. This is more fundamental than that. If we don't secure the services of a defender ( at least one, two would be better) and another midfielder then we will go down. This is the largely held opinion of the fans I speak to at the match and the local and national media. This has been realised since the Chelsea defeat, which was by and large brushed off in the anticipation of something being done in January about it.

I would term myself as extremely optimistic about Villa but I see nothing other than relegation if we don't do something by tomorrow night.

More like a chinese cut to the boundary.
