If they sell Bent and don't buy anyone then every footballing employee/employer at the club can go fuck themselves.

They can go fuck themselves either way.

If I were Lambert - Find a club

Who need a striker and have couple of quality midfielders and left back. Swap Bent for New Powerful Midfielder, and Left Back and perhaps a young player

Sell Agbonlahor to Sunderland for 10 millions

Buy 2 strikers to compete with Benteke and Weinnman with 10 millions

Use the money in kitty to buy another midfielder and central half.

Get a wide man on loan.

and hire a new defensive coach to help out Lambert.

All in 36 hours!

We're out of time, because clearly nothing is happening.

It's like on 'Who wants to be a Millionaire?' when they phone a friend - the friend reads the question a few times and runs out of time without giving a answer.

Lerner is an idiot ..£60mil going down the crapper if we don't attempt to fight our way out of trouble.

As was pointed out to me last night, Lerner is both disinterested and stupid.

The Bent situation is a tough one to stomach. We know that, used properly, he'll score goals. But Lambert either doesn't know how to use him, or stubbornly refuses to build a team that can. Therefore, he's useless to us and getting rid of him would help us claw back some cash and cut another big earner from the wage bill.

Imagine a brainless, uncultured chav inheriting a Steinway grand piano from some distant, rich auntie. Now this chav fancies himself as a musician, but when it comes to the Steinway he just doesn't appreciate it. He can't play it, he'll never learn how, and he certainly won't maintain it, so better to sell it to someone who will so the chav can spend the proceeds on the latest offering from Bontempi.

Bent leaving now.......... Well anyone think we've agreed fee's with clubs and contracts with players and are just waiting for the money to come in for Bent to push them through?

Its possible, and we like to keep things quiet admittedly, but if that was the case surely something would leaked from the other club's end? I fear we will just pocket the money or at a push sanction a loan deal.

I can see an outcome where Bent goes and a couple of decent signings come in, and that it's been offloading Bent that we've been waiting for. The Hutton and Warnock deals have been telegraphed, and I imagine this Bent one has too. Lerner has historically stumped up cash at the end of transfer windows, and Bent himself is an example of a surprising late purchase.

I'd go as far as to say I'd be very surprised if there are not two signings, at least one above £5m.

Hes already said he's tried for players and has some money, if bent goes that would just add to the coffers and maybe mean we can get better quality players.

The fact is that if we need to sell Bent to fund transfers then we are fucked. We've also left it far far too late.

No way - slightly taller version of Bannan. A lot of hollywood balls with no end result. And he tackles like hutton. That would be a no from me....

Yup. A day and a half left. Far from ideal

Not sure about Adam myself, he's not really set the world alight since he left Blackpool..
