I like Malouda and compared to someone like N'Zog he's a massive step up in class. I just don't think thats the priority. Obviously if there's players in the real problem area's arriving as well then fair enough
I imagine if we said to Chelsea we'll pay £20,000 a week to loan him for the season, they'd agree. Him in addition to a defensive midfielder and a defender would be good business.
He wouldn't/couldn't expect anything like that for a new contract though, which is probably why he wanted to sit his Chelsea contract out.
That said, I'm not saying I think its a goer. I doubt it is.
This one can stay under the Lies, Absolute Crap section of this thread.
If he comes I can see it going one of 3 ways:
1. Comes shows what he can do and fucks off elsewhere in the summer.
2. Comes shows what he can do falls in love with Birmingham and signs for life.
3. Comes is shit and fucks off elsewhere in the summer.
To be fair, if he is just coming on loan, it won't be about the money. We will probably not be paying alot towards his wages either.
Pay a percentage of his wage, gets him off chelseas hands and gives him a chance to play and put himself in the shop window for a summer move somewhere .
Wishful thinking probably...

Option 1 followed by option 3.
Its a no brainer i think wages wise. Chelsea will take what they can get off us but pay the rest, makes no odds to them. He's got 6 months to show interested clubs he can still do it or indeed us. What's he got to lose?
option 4. comes in, is shit and gets offered a long term contract.
And if we could get him, could we get him in without baggy faced transfer spider Harry Redknapp trying to steal him away into his cobweb of any player going.
Just read something on F365 about players available on the cheap, and one of them suggested was Flamini.
That's not a bad shout. Have to do a lot of negotiation with Milan on his wages (they're big), but he'd be a good addition to our midfield.
now, flamini would be a good shout.

My thought process as well. Also he'd have good reason to be fairly motivated to perform.
Has Owen Hargreaves found himself a club yet?
