I don't believe that for one second. However, there needs to be some decisive action from the club right now.

I don't buy that either Maz. His past investment says he might be misguided, but I think he likes to let his managers get on with it, but you are right, he needs to come and tell Lambert to get the bodies we need now.

I would still take Palacios off Stoke on loan. And Upson at the back. In fact, a swap of those 2 on loan for Bent who Lambert seems to refuse to play, might do us some good.

I dont think there's any need to move Bent on yet.
Get Hutton and Warnock off the wage bill and use the money that we have to get a couple of decent players in.

Good players are heading from Europe to clubs that are struggling in this league. There's no good reason I can thnk of why we cant get two or three in.
I think we're heading for last day drama again personally. Like we did in the summer.
When there's no more room to manoeuvre, when the games of bluff and counter bluff are done with you have two choices: Do or do not. We'll see how it really is on Thursday.

Hopefully it won't be case of '5 to 2am: grab a fat'n, she'll do'.

Look at the transfers so far and the silly contracts Newcastle are handing out to get players, on the last day if a player from Europe or the lower divisions want to be paid more than they're getting and play in the prem (for the present) then they will come, without the competition from Arry and hia mates. I wish posters would stop saying Lerner doesn't care, he may not be the owner we wished for but  he's not that big a fool.

I think we will see 2 or 3 new players in this week - its vital that he gets the right players in -the money is there , spend it wisely and it could give us a major lift.

I agree maz , thursday will probably the day it all happens , 3 on deadline day last august and maybe 3 this time as well- so so vital that he chooses the right players though!

Lerner provides the cash - its lambert who spends it so a bit  harsh blaming lerner because the manager hasn't spent yet.

Lerner is to blame for many other things though.

Haven't we already got Dunney?

I know there is a full premier programme midweek , is there a full league fixture programme too?
With teams in action it adds to the complications .

Hope you are right Clampy but we are cutting it fine. We need points now. New blood comes in on Thursday and then they are ready for a tonking at Everton ? Not ideal is it really ?

Not ideal dan, should have been in earlier but i guess better late than never - im sure you will enjoy an afternoon in the sun with a cool pint on saturday while watching our new signings tear the toffees apart.

Will be over next year mate so we will have a few pints and a catch up, lets hope we are still in premiership.

I hope i'm right as well although two is not really enough. No it's not ideal but i suppose we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

I think more likely three will come in - im hoping for some  premier experience there though - not all lower league players.

We want players who can step in straight away and make a difference, not players who need time to adapt.

IF we do happen to bring anyone in now and it secures our Premierhip safety, then it just beggars the question, why was the money not been spent at the start of January? We might still be in the FA Cup, we might be going to Wembley for the League Cup and pushing on for mid table safety.
