Believe me the money is there and everyone is waiting for lambert to spend it -

The Villans currently sit 17th in the league, but the 43-year-old is insistent he will only sign players who he believes can improve his squad.

“There is a chance of no signings at all,” he told reporters. “There is also a chance you might try and get someone in so it works both ways.

“We’d try to do something if I thought the people we could get in would make it better. But if we can’t do it and I have to go with the group that’s there, then I’ll go with what’s there.

“What I don’t want to do is fill the place with people I’m bringing in just for the sake of bringing them in.

“It’s the wrong thing to do for this club. It’s wrong if they’re no better than the ones who are already here. I have to bring in people I think will make a major impact.

He said: "That's the decision I've made. The football club has been in relegation battles for the last few years. This isn't just new on them because they've been in it for a few years.

"It's something we are trying to rectify in a different way and we will still go that way.

Well frankly it's hard to believe that virtually any player playing top level football couldn't improve our side.

You need to pace yourself. You may have  tugged yourself dry before then.

Yes, I'm looking forward to Wayne Routledge and Shaun Maloney.

They'd both walk into our side on current form.

Both could still be playing in the Premier League next season.

Yes, I'm looking forward to Wayne Routledge and Shaun Maloney.

Saw routledge playing the other night and he looked decent against chelsea , in fact i was hugely impressed with swansea - look how much their side cost compared to ours as well.

I'd be in for Paul Scharner on loan like a shot.

I think Reading have been linked with him.

So would I it's a no-brainer, although it appears a lot of 'no-brainers' are making the decisions at our club.

Yes, I'm looking forward to Wayne Routledge and Shaun Maloney.

Both players that were once deemed not good enough for Villa and released, just how far we have fallen!

We didn't release Maloney he wanted to leave. A Bid for him wouldn't be the worst thing.

He was homesick when he was with us, wasn't he?

Only if one chooses to believe that the son of a director who didn't really seem to know very much about the running of the club before actually knows anything now.

The way i'm seeing it is this. The money is there but not enough for the players Lambert wants. I'm not sure what paper i read it in now but Lambert was quoted as saying something along the lines of 'we've spoken to a couple of lads and clubs but financially we could'nt do it'. Now that to me suggests the following.

1. We've put in bids and they've been rejected.

2. We've had bids accepted but the wages were an issue.

I still think we'll see someone come in because it's a case of having to.
