Sharner, Reo Coker and Danny Murphy out of Blackburn would be enough. That is how pathetic our defence/ defensive midfield positions are. Add in Riise who is surplus at Fulham and you would be much better off and give the kids some good pros to learn from, unlike the pathetic effort of Stephen Ireland.

Anything to not let Bannan near the side in the next few months - his form has been incredibly poor.

I woulld have carragher for 6 mths. Experience and would talk to the players .

Lerner is such an idiot, we're buried unless we sign players.

I posted on here about Murphy in the Summer. Obvious transfer. Also, loads of us wanted Diame and N'Zonzi etc. KEA looks a very poor decision in hindsight. As does Vlaar.

He's not going to leave Liverpool to join a relegation scrap, he dose'nt need to. He'll finish his career there, get a testimonial thrown in and he'll probably join their backroom staff.

I think hes had his testimonial already , but i agree hes unlikely to see this as a challenge.

It says it all when a lot of us would agree that any half decent defender or midfielder with top flight experience who is still under the age of forty would improve the side.

I know it says the word 'sources' in it, but it's from the beeb so why not.

Well-placed sources at Upton park insist Diame's release clause is 'considerably higher' than the reported £3.5m. It is understood Arsenal, Aston Villa and Fulham have been offered the player by agents but none have expressed an interest.

That would fall under what Lambert was saying, ie we won't even sign one player who's perfect for us and our situation because he might cost more than £3.5m. I have no words strong enough.

why we was not in for Diame in the summer I will never know , and end up buying KEA .

It's obvious... WAGES

I keep saying it, but we now pay Wigan wages, so we aren't going to get their best player looking for a pay rise.

It's obvious PL has his hands tied.

Daime would be a great signing, but I would still want another one to break up the play. We are 2 strong men short in there.

Hopefully we will never see Given in a Villa shirt again. Nice bloke, but over the 3 games I am not convinced had Guzan started we would be out the cups now.

If they don't sign anyone it is just a way of not adding PL wages for the campaign in a lower division next season.

Sadly I think you are right. There are loan options though.

Yes, the Frimpong thing seems almost unforgivable at this stage.

Shittu would'nt be the worst signing either.

For me , we have to get Clark, Bannan and Delph out of our team now, none of them are good enough, and preferably Lowton , Bennett and Westwood as well.

Now Baker or Dunne could come in, but that only leaves Ireland, Hutton and Warnock to come in, and i don't trust any of them.

Mickey Quinn has been talking about Villa all morning, and i'm afraid most of his comments are right, too many players not good enough, too many hiding. He said N'zog was our best player, don't know did'nt see it.

Unless we buy 2 central midfielders at the very least, we are down.

Westwood and Lowton are good players, but need guidance and resting. Westwood with Reo Coker with him, leading him, would be better than Westwood mopping up after Bannan. Lowton could be taken out for a few games and Hutton given the odd game to rest him, but there is no let up.
