@MatKendrick: Lambert on the R-word ('relegation', not 'Randy'): "It doesn't frighten me or scare me. It's a challenge. I'm not going to let it happen."

I think at the next press conference, he'll just stick his fingers in his ears and go

Not sure what else he can say. He has been left up shit creek without a paddle by Randy and he has to at least try to maintain a front of confidence even if its an increasingly frail facade. The only other option would be to come out fighting and openly criticise Randy and try to force his hand.

Yeah he probably doesn't believe it, the players probably don't believe it and we don't believe it, but Lamberts not got a lot of choice but to keep going again and saying it.

Judging by the full back Mcduff did manage to sign, I won't shed any tears.

Stuck in a time warp type quote? A la John Gregory?

Some of Newcastles players might turn out to be good, or they might be like our very own KEA who (positive spin) will take a long time to adjust to the premier league (not so positive spin) or are total shit, despite looking decent on a couple of you tube videos.

Remy might turn out to be good at QPR, he certainly had a good start the other day, but he's still their only half decent striker, they certainly don't have the strength up front that we do.

We are a point ahead of our rivals. They will pick up points this season, sure, but fuck em, they are still shit, we just need to match them to stay ahead of them.

Well that's what i would do. Put some distance between himself and Lerner/Faulkner. He'll probably get the tin-tack if he does, but at least his reputation won't be completely trashed as it will be if we go down. He should remember TSM was in complete harmony with Lerner and Co this time last year and it didn't save him. He's being lined up as the scapegoat and he doesn't seem to realise it

There's a chance that may turn out to be the case, yes, but what is almost certain is that our squad isn't going to magically improve in quality if we don't buy anyone.

"They might be shit" isn't the best of arguments against buying new players.

Strange how things change. We seemed to spend ages hoping we would buy a decent centre forward as 'the final piece in the jigsaw'. Now we have 3, but need players in 3 or 4 other positions, just to have a mid table team.

Rabbit out of the hat required please Mr Lerner
