Er, this is just a re-write of his press conference. With added topspin.

Just seen this on mirror website -Not sure it this has been posted -

Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert has revealed he is set to leave his kids to battle for survival without any new blood to help them..

But Lambert will not be panic buying and has revealed he will certainly not be spending millions like the club did on Darren Bent two years ago.

He said: “There is a chance of no signings at all. There is also a chance you might try and get someone in so it works both ways.

“We’d try to do something if I thought the people we could get in would make it better. But if we can’t do it and I have to go with the group that’s there, then I’ll go with what’s there.

“What I don’t want to do is fill the place with people I’m bringing in just for the sake of bringing them in.

“It’s the wrong thing to do for this club. It’s wrong if they’re no better than the ones who are already here. I have to bring in people I think will make a major impact.

“A £15million spending spree is not on the agenda, nowhere near it. Loans are not something I’d disregard. I’ll just have to wait and see on that as well.”

Lambert insists he knew the club needed work when he arrived from Norwich in the summer.

“I knew it needed rebuilding which was the great challenge. It’s not something where I’m sitting , thinking: ‘I can’t believe the way it is’.

“I love it, love the challenge of it. I love the pressure of it, love the challenge of it and it’s something you’re determined to get right because if you do you know this is an unbelievable club.

“I understand people who say it wasn’t right five, six, seven years ago. It’s always been a big club. But I’ve been brought in to try and rebuild it and get results while doing it.

“And it does take time. I think someone said the other week it might take you three-four years, to do it. Whether I get that time – I understand what they’re saying.”

Blimey eastie, you're on here so often how can you possibly not know this is from last week? There's nothing new here at all.

I wish he would say nothing rather than come out with nonsense like this.

It got posted last week, Eastie. It's a re-hash of a press conference Lambert did.

Old news - either Lambert is blagging potential sellers or there's no dosh.

Sorry i must have missed it, only picked up on it on their website tonight .

All seems quiet still regarding links to players , might be a deadline day rush.

Arsene certainly thinks so; and there's some who believe that what Arsene thinks is It.

Got a feeling in my urine that Huddlestone will be in on loan.
He's been quoted by AVB to be pretty much first choice now that Sandro is out for the year. Non-starter I'm afraid.

Aren't they bringing in that German kid with the English parents and name?

Holtby? Is he not more an attacking mid?

I am aren't I bob.   I compare myself to Hedley Lamar in Blazing Saddles.   My head is seething and teeming and exploding with thoughts of all kinds.

Hedley Lamarr: My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.

Taggart: God darnit, Mr. Lamarr, you use your tongue prettier than a twenty dollar whore.

You bastard Damian. I will never forgive you for this. 2 become 1 is the most incredibly written piece of music in history.
