I honestly don't think we'll bring anybody in, or at best one loan.
That Norwegian Centre Half  who has gone to Southampton would have been an excellent addition for us.

But the we would be castigated for him having no experience

He's 24 though, not green like our current defence, played in Championship winning side and won caps for Norway.
There most be similar players of his ilk available in Northern Europe.

I agree there must. I reckon scout well and you could pick up 4 players in the positions we need for under 15 million. Indeed look at Westwood and vlaar. Clark looked better with vlaar and had Lowton not had to move I and licjaj come on we may have seen it through.

Well Sissokho is available for £3.5m, a player like him would probably add 10/15 points a season, 4 in the last 2 away games for instance.Wea re not that far away. For example if you sold Bent, and bought Capoue and Sissokho, then you would be in the top 8 with just those 2 players.

It's so obvious that a good midfield signing alone would do wonders with us. If that defence had a bit more grit/protection in front of it, we'd probably be at least two or three points better off than we are.

Protection has nothing to do with it when you let goals in at corners and setpieces. Thats just being well organised in defence. We're not despite it being blindlingly obvious

Stop giving Benteke people to mark would help!

Put him near post and say clear the ball son.

well i'm old school and don't believe forwards should be anywhere near their own penalty area. They see the open goal, the old red mist comes down and calamity often occurs.

Of course it does, they passed straight through midfield to Lukaku which conceded the corner. More protection = more balls won = less set pieces. (In theory)

Rumour on twitter that Dale Stephens has sorted out his house up here, but we are still haggling over the fee.

Westwood,Vlar and Lowton all bought by Lambert and all worth more than we paid so the Guy can spot a good player, we are not far away from having a decent squad but for how long have we been saying that?

AKA doing a Heskey, for his many many faults Heskey was great at defending corners

look there's loads of teams out there who have a bobbins midfield and concede a lot of freekicks and corners. Doesn't mean your defence can't defend them. Admittedly our midfield offers precious little protection to the defence when the ball is just with the opposition and they could do with a bit of help.
