Players who are out of contract in the summer. I wonder if it would be worth trying to get any of them in cheap now?

ARSENAL: Theo Walcott, Andrey Arshavin, Sebastien Squillaci, Emmanuel Frimpong, Lukasz Fabianski.
ASTON VILLA: Richard Dunne, Andy Marshall, Eric Lichaj.
CHELSEA: Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole, Florent Malouda, Paulo Ferreira, Hilario, Ross Turnbull.
EVERTON: Phil Neville, Sylvain Distin, Jan Mucha.
FULHAM: Mladen Petric, Damien Duff, Mark Schwarzer, Chris Baird, Philippe Senderos, Mahamadou Diarra, Giorgos Karagounis, Brede Hangeland, Neil Etheridge.
LIVERPOOL: Jamie Carragher, Doni.
MANCHESTER CITY: Kolo Toure, Richard Wright.
MANCHESTER UNITED: Rio Ferdinand, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs.
NEWCASTLE: Steve Harper, Xisco, Danny Simpson.
NORWICH: Elliott Ward, Marc Tierney, Simeon Jackson.
QPR: Kieron Dyer, Brian Murphy, Clint Hill, Shaun Derry, Radek Cerny, Ryan Nelsen.
READING: Stuart Taylor, Ian Harte, Brynjar Gunnarsson, Noel Hunt, Jay Tabb, Alex Pearce, Simon Church.
SOUTHAMPTON: Frazer Richardson, Richard Chaplow, Danny Butterfield, Artur Boruc, Jason Puncheon.
STOKE: Michael Owen, Matthew Upson, Carlo Nash, Rory Delap, Dean Whitehead, Ryan Shotton.
SUNDERLAND: Titus Bramble, Louis Saha, Matt Kilgallon, Fraizer Campbell.
SWANSEA: Gerhard Tremmel, Luke Moore, Dwight Tiendalli, Mark Gower.
TOTTENHAM: William Gallas.
WEST BROM: Boaz Myhill, Marc-Antoine Fortune, Steven Reid, Zoltan Gera, Goran Popov, Chris Brunt, Gonzalo Jara, Luke Daniels, Yassine El Ghanassy.
WEST HAM: Jussi Jaaskelainen, Gary O’Neil, Freddie Piquionne, Winston Reid, Joey O’Brien, Carlton Cole.
WIGAN: Maynor Figueroa, Callum McManaman, Franco Di Santo, Albert Crusat, Piscu, Mike Pollitt, Ronnie Stam, David Jones, Emmerson Boyce, Antolin Alcaraz.

Frimpong and Hangeland from that lost wouldn't be bad!

Maybe Figueroa as well.

Figeroa is a good call. Would sort left back and give us a bit of experience.

Distin won't leave Everton I would not think. Diarra would be good, he has looked good in the holding role for Fulham at times.

As an aside, has Stuart Taylor ever had a run as first choice keeper? I've only ever seen him as backup, surely he hasn't wasted his whole career that way??

If various companies we're willing to pay you thousands of pounds a week for doing absolutely rock all, would you consider it a waste of a career?

Isn't it about 70 first team games he's played? Not much of a career for a 32 year old. Then again, does he care as he's probably made a good wedge for doing little?

Personally if I was a footballer i'd prefer a bit less money in the bank but to have some decent footballing memories, even if it was in the lower leagues.

I've had a quick look at his Wiki and he's played 68 club games in his entire career that's spanned about 15 years. Then you look at someone like Friedel who has made that many in 2 years.

True, but Stu's still got his looks, whereas Friedel looks like an extra from the Muntsers.

Coincidence? I don't think so....

the man city move always puzzled me, they can't exactly have signed him for his experience!

Man City flogged Stuart Taylor in the summer, and replaced him with Richard Wright. FFS.

Also interesting to me at least is that in a 15 year pro career he's only played 30 times for the club he's under contract to, the rest have been loan appearances.
