How about Michael Johnson now he has been released from Man City only 16 stone, no good on the pitch but Im sure he can give Dunn a run in man vs food how can a professional footballer let himself go so much?  Oh silly question

Well, it'd be better half time entertainment than those stupid zorb things!

The zorb racing is beyond lame.

I feel a new thread coming on........

I reckon a mascot wedding would be a great idea

The Beeb says Saints on the verge of signing Forren.

I thought we are after him?

If Dunne and Vlaar are going to be fit soon, then maybe Lambo etc have decided we have more pressing priorities, such as defensive and attacking midfield.

Yes, like he did in the summer.  Dunne and the phrase "fit soon" will never be happy bedfellows.

I'm not saying I agree with it, just that that might be his thinking.

How about a guy in a villa kit kicking the ball into the net in front of the Holte for 15minutes.

So, let's say we sign Sissoko and Coutinho, and Vlaar and Dunne return to fitness. We might end up with a team that looks a little like this:

-------------Guzan-------------
Lowton-Vlaar-Dunne-Baker
----Sissoko-Westwood------
Bannan-Weimann-Coutinho
-----------Benteke-------------

Everybody happier?

Edit: just seen Eastie's post. Damnation!

I'd be pretty happy with that.  I think I'd like to see Bennett and Stevens a few more times, with a more solid pairing inside them, before I make a judgement on their chances, both have shown flashes of being capable of making the step up in my opinion, but how far they are away from doing so dictates whether we can afford them the time.

I'd prefer Bannan left of the 3, he won't score from there but he's got great delivery from that side and has put in 5-6 really good crosses in the last 2 games from that position, which we should have converted at least a couple of.

I do agree with the need for them to be flexible though.

Sissoko and Lescott are out of our wages range, i think 40.000 tops is what we have to offer. If we could get rid of Ireland and Given things might change.

But then, I can't figure out why we don't go for Lescott, we've just got to ride out Dunne, Ireland and Given until summer, that'd free up a hefty wedge of wage cash.

Surely Ireland has another year and Given another three years?

Warnock and Dunne are gone in the summer and that's about 」105,000 a week off the wage bill.

Not sure that's right, I'm sure Warnock is out of contract in the summer.

Frimpong and Hangeland from that lost wouldn't be bad!

As an aside, has Stuart Taylor ever had a run as first choice keeper? I've only ever seen him as backup, surely he hasn't wasted his whole career that way??

Frimpong is still someone I think we should sign, even if Arse want a permanent deal for 3 million or so. I would love 2 athletic central midfielders that can play a bit, maybe like Sissoko and Frimpong, and put them in front of our back 4 and say walk through us now. We need to battle a bit.
