Agree about the left back situation there John, the solidity factor was my thinking as well. Besides, Bennett and Clark look absolutely mentally shot and in need of a break, whereas Baker seems a touch more resilient to me.

Agreed.  Both Clark and Benteke would have been taken out of the firing line by now if we had anyone else to put in during this horror run.

And also agreed about the interchanging of positions between the 3 in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

As the sun sets over Aston, another transfer window day comes to a close, and the Villa fax machine sleeps on...

If makoun cannot speak English then him having a wife is of no relevance.

And teh fact that he was poor first time around should also weight in favour of him staying in France.

It's amazing how some people can write off a player after 7 games.
Like Joe Bennett you mean!!!! It's the Villa way!!!

Like with the Blue Peter tortoise they put the fax machine back in it's box to hibernate over the winter, I'm sure he'll pop out again in the summer for a week.

When it was revealed that a PL club had bid there was speculation on here that it might be us, but I don't think we were even linked in the press?

If Dunne and Vlaar are going to be fit soon, then maybe Lambo etc have decided we have more pressing priorities, such as defensive and attacking midfield.

How about Michael Johnson now he has been released from Man City only 16 stone, no good on the pitch but Im sure he can give Dunn a run in man vs food how can a professional footballer let himself go so much?  Oh silly question

There were tentative links in the norwegian press along the lines of 'interest from a number of premier league clubs, thought to include villa, soton, man utd, everton, liverpool and fulham'  I think it was those, was a big list anyway.

Yes, like he did in the summer.  Dunne and the phrase "fit soon" will never be happy bedfellows.
