A luxury we can only dream of -

@JamesNursey: #QPR transfer plans are interesting. Apparently Harry is so sure they will stay up, his signings are also for next season to kick on

Well that's a hell of gamble, because they're not going to QPR for anything other than money and if they don't stay up they'll be ruined.

Similar to pompeys strategy.

And our strategy.
another harbinger of doom joins the masses to throw his positivity and hope amongst the followers of the club!

No, i want to be positive, its just a fact the wages me are patyng would truly fuck us in the Championship, and if you think otherwise you are a fool
i dont know how long you have been coming on here hairband, but the posts you have put up today have all been doom and gloom, what you have failed to put up is a solution to the clubs ills, as has the majority of harbingers of doom on here. yes i am positive, am i a fool, well for being a realist maybe, but my support in unequivocal and always will be.

Get Faulkner on www.pof.com and find Jean Makoun an English wife!

Sign Sissoko then we have a midfield of

         Makoun     Westwood     Sissoko

Suddenly with those two and Vlaar back we look competitive.

Getting Jean 11 a wife has got to be cheaper than signing another player.

It worked for Bozzie after all ;)

Its too big a job for QPR to stay up.

One flukey away win in a season aside, they need to win every home game and they wont do that.

Them and Reading are dead certs for me.

Wigan were in as bad a state last year and survived , we have all seen what 3 wins have done for sunderland, that can happen to qpr , they could even be above us in a fortnight , so certainly shouldnt be classed as dead certs to go.

I wouldnt rule out  reading yet either, a couple of wins can change things dramatically.

Im referring to spending the sort of money that qpr are investing in avoiding relegation , what we could do with £20m or so now to invest on players.

Of anyone in the bottom 6 i see qpr as most likely to succeed, they could be within 3 points of us by the weekend , they have experienced players, several new signings lined up, a successful manager who will attract good players and momentum- having won at chelsea and drew with spurs i think they have turned a corner .

People said the same thing about us after Anfield.

And they could just as easily be 8 points adrift of us.  Granted us winning at Albion is unlikely, but then so it them winning at West Ham, IMO.

Interesting you mention west ham as if anyone from mid table drops down into the pack i think west ham could be the ones.

Harry has also taken Southampton down, and had some dodgy spells. There is a long way to go, and a lot of egos at QPR. The Chelsea result and Spurs results were good, but we won at Liverpool and were a cross bar from beating Arsenal. It is swings and roundabouts, and a couple of results the wrong way pushed QPR down the shoot faster than us. There are a lot of players there in the mould that we would be bemoaning us signing 3 years later on huge wages crippling the club. Something will give there.

As for us, although only a possible, Sissoko would be an immense signing if we can get him. Alongside Westwood and the re-emerging Delph we could actually have a central midfield. Get Stephens in from Charlton too, who looks a decent player to me and we might actually possess a central midfield, which would be unusual.

Considering our woes at the back I was surprised to see us not even linked to that Forren, but I am clinging to the straw of hope that he was seen as too young and that we have someone more experienced lined up.

And for all the dreamland comments, I would not be shocked at all to see us go back in for Lescott towards the deadline if they sign a centre half. Feeling a bit more positive today. Couple of signings and we can do it. Draw at the weekend would be good too.

Reading and QPR are three and six points behind us respectively.  Us, who don;t look as if we know where the next point, let alone win, is coming from.  I can see no reason why they can't both catch us quite easily.

Tragically

"Midfielder Michael Johnson has been released from his £40,000-a-week contract by Manchester City, reports the Guardian.

The 24-year-old, once considered to be one of the brightest young players to emerge from the club's academy, last made an appearance for the club as a substitute in a Carling Cup tie against Scunthorpe in October 2009."

Fits the Lambert mentality - young / something to prove ?

Have a look at the photo of what he looks like now. He'll be lucky to find a club in the Football League, let alone the Premier League.

Not played for 3 years! Rumours of serious off the field issues, and must be 5 stone overweight. No thanks!

Should have become one of the best midfield players of his generation though. Superb young player.

If makoun cannot speak English then him having a wife is of no relevance.

And teh fact that he was poor first time around should also weight in favour of him staying in France.

That completely ignores the fact that, despite how poor we've been, these sides have actually been worse so far this season.  We can argue what Villa are and aren't going to do for the rest of the season, but I don't get this mentality that everyone around us is suddenly about to go on amazing runs.  It defies logic.

Wigan have managed it 2 seasons in a row, so it is not out of the question, and we did it under Gmac after GED was taken ill.

Gmac did a decent job in fairness.
