For clarity I was posting this in response to Lamberts interview being posted for about the hundredth time today on this thread.

Asked if he still thinks Villa will stay up, Lambert replied: “Yes.”

Asked why, he responded: “I just do. I said that from day one. I just do.

Good to see what the clubs ambitions were from day one.Just to stay up

Can`t remember the club selling us that line when the season tickets were up for grabs - If I had known that the sole aim this season was just to survive I may not have been so hasty with my plastic card - ok the League Cup may be a nice distraction should we pull off a miracle of Biblical proportions and win the sodding thing, however right now I am more than disappointed that the fans were not included in any communication which alluded to survival being the Holy Grail.

I hoped we would be targeting mid table at least this season , not starting on day one wondering If we would stay up.

Maybe he should have talked up his young players to build a bit of confidence rather than saying " I just do"

Sol ong as he's doing that in the dressing room it's fine, I'd rather he not single out any of the youngsters for praise or criticism at the minute, none of them need the pressure it would bring.

He needs a couple of wise owl grizzlers to allay  the inexperience of the youngsters. If he does not see that then we are doomed through the enthusiasm of youth.

If Vlaar can stay fit and Dunne doesn't have a set back 1 would be enough, a commanding centre mid to set the tempo for us.  Then we'll have a bt of cash to use on a younger defensive midfielder to fill out the squad and a young attacking midfielder with a bit of class about them.

Can we risk Vlaar or dunne being fit though- neither have good records regarding injuries .

NRC is a classic example of just what we are trying to get rid of - overpaid, disinterested, aging players with  over inflated opinions of what they are worth - thanks to the blood sucking agents who are taking money out of the game in evergrowing volumes - this money should be going to the grass roots  at schools and junior football ... as you may have guessed it makes my p*** boil.

We got rid of too many of those players and replaced them with too many kids. That's why we find ourselves in this shitefest.

Why would be resign a midfielder who cannot pass and we wasted 13 odd million in wages and fees first time around

What about Makoun and that lazy bastard at left back as central midfield pair, one can tackle and other one pass

You know that black fellow who reguarly wanders round the city centre with a. a basketball or b. an electric guitar.

Thats who we need in our midfield!
