That statements in that interview are the ramblings of a madman.  A more blinkered, head-in-the-sand approach I have not seen since Comical Ali was insisting that Iraq would win the war as the tanks were rolling in behind him.

Why will we stay up?  We just will!  That's the sort of thing my four year old son would come out with.

I'm surprised he didn't end it with " so ner ner ner ner ner"

Can imagine randy sitting eating his trifle in the USA  ,listening to those words and thinking no need to worry about anything.

Quite worrying quotes indeed.

You can add me to the list of people that would give NRC a contract (albeit lower than he was on last time). He was the best player on the park most weeks in the run that kept us safe at the end of Houllier's season, and he has leadership, energy, and the ability to dish out tackles and win the ball. With better passers around him like Westwood and Bannan I think he would do well for us.
you know what, I think I'd give him a contract till the end of the season as well.
I think he could influence the team far more effectively that than Ireland or Holman  for instace, and yet they are on the bench.

After all, what the hell could we lose by trying?

Asked if he still thinks Villa will stay up, Lambert replied: “Yes.”

Asked why, he responded: “I just do. I said that from day one. I just do.

Good to see what the clubs ambitions were from day one.Just to stay up

Aston Villa’s head of European scouting, Michael Henke, is set to leave the club for a coaching role at German second division club FC Ingolstadt.

Henke, who was Lambert’s assistant manager under Ottmar Hitzfeld at Borussia Dortmund, was recruited to Villa’s talent-spotting network last August from Iranian side Esteghlal.

The 55-year-old will not leave until February at the earliest, so his departure will have no impact on Villa’s transfer activity this month.

Because you actually have to have transfer activity in the first place for it to be affected, luckily we have none.

Only the Guardian and Telegraph are reporting the same Greg. There has clearly been some communication from the club.

Sorry. man flu.

They've been waiting to tell you at each home game ;)

I dont really see what was so wrong with that interview. Do you expect him to say "Yes, I think we're screwed"?
He's not the most elegant of speakers at the best of times so this is all very predictable.
I dont think he's talking to his players like that or that they have any doubt as to the predicament we're in.
I also have no doubts he knows that we need a few players in and that he's not going to give any hints as to who they are or how much he has to spend because that would be silly.

I'm also pretty sure he knows we need better than Reo bleeding Coker and that there are lots of players better than him that we can get without spending a fortune.
Spain is potentially having a January sale for instance.

Why go back to players we used to have who weren't much cop then?
I'm sorry this club has done this to you, that you're desperate enough to want things like Reo Coker back to happen but I dont think a guy giving the ball away and unable to support attacks in any way, putting more pressure on a young fragile team is the answer. We need more control of the ball, not less.

Can we please stop this NRC thing?  He was yesterdays man when he left.  He's the day before yesterday's man now.

No.

Were going through a massive season.. its painful.. but yet again those pair of dicks RIP and Risso disgrace themselves with abusing OUR manager. You really are low. Ive hated past managers with a passion but couldn't resort to your style. Show some respect.

I doubt the managers upset by it, so why get yourself banned?
