Lerner will see that one of his toys is broken and discard it.   Lambert will await the arrival of whoever picks up the broken toy and move on with the proven copper bottomed excuse that Villa did not back him adequately and their failure was not his fault, just like O'Neill and just like McLeish.

Faulkner will breath a huge sigh of relief, trouser a golden handshake and go back into credit card banking.

We, the fans will do the pain.   Prepare yourselves for it.  It is coming.
This IS the reality of modern day football. We the fans invest our lifetime into the Club. The owners play with their toys. The house, the cars, the holidays  and dare I say a mistress here and there. What more...oh yes a football club in England. All to be discarded with something new and fresh in the future. For us we can not discard our love for the Club.
I hope, whatever happens this season, Lerner and Faulkner disappear off the face of this earth as far as we are concerned and we can get on with our Club with hopefully a more benevolent owner and a Chief Executive who understands football.

NRC in. Warnock back involved. Instantly a stronger team.

Lets get NRC back to save us, like he did for Bolton last season.

Did you not realise there is only one defensive midfielder in the whole world according to some lot on here?

Anyway, he's pulling up trees at Ispwich...

Because that's what we need.. Smart comments like that.

Facts are, we are shit and NRC is an improvement on nothing, yes nothing, because that's what we have in midfield, nothing, especially defensively.

Hopefully we will sign someone better, because there are loads of better players out there, but we are desperate and need players now.

NRC is available, and is better than nothing, fact.

So we should get in anyone who is better than nothing?

Or alternatively... Look for someone who is half decent?

I agree, not sure what difference getting rid of Gabby for Gardner would make.

For starters they don't play in the same position , Gardner would get into our current midfield I think whereas gabby is struggling to get into our team , Sunderland are the only ones I can think of who might take gabby because o Neill got him playing for him, if not a straight swap then cash which would be useful to spend elsewhere.

We are struggling to offload players and I'd far rather keep bent than gabby.

If anything we need to add to the squad rather than give players away in swap deals if we can help it though.

NRC is a better defensive midfielder than Gardner.

Remember people it's a defensive midfielder we are after.

I think we have minimal funds though, so if he can raise some extra cash through sales it hopefully will mean bringing more in - I really don't think his is the time to be bringing players though who have no premier experience, we cannot afford settling in times , we need players who go straight into the side and hit th ground running.
Our future will probably be decided by who lambert brings in during the next 2 weeks- lets hope he gets it right for all our sakes.

I think we need a couple of midfielders and another defender .
Defensive midfield I would like to see Clark alongside Westwood , that may see an improvement, and bring in another central defender.

Clark has been poor in centre defence and I think he would be a better player as a defensive midfielder.

I'd accept NRC on a short term deal if nothing else was going to happen.

I can't escape the feeling that this season is similar to Houllier's where we tried to change the playing style and struggled, which was compounded by injuries.  The injuries cleared up, we made some signings and things started to click.  So I don't buy into this 'we're doomed' thought process.  But for me to be confident what we need is some investment from Randy.

Well Mr Lerner, if you continue this wall of silence, I'll be silent come season-ticket renewal next season (likely to be Championship League)! Great PR, treating your customers with such ignorance.

I notice breaking news that mon has swooped now for a 6ft 7 defender from Dubai or somewhere, funny how he now is signing a load of overseas players and yet when he he rarely ventured past Scotland.

NRC has left Ipswich apparently as they only offered him a 4 month deal.
