I can't see how if we win on Saturday Lambert suddenly becomes a good enough manager to keep on and given funds to spend, whearas if we lose he's rubbish and must be got rid of

Randy must by now either think he's the right man or is having massive doubts and looking for the best way out, which might be easier if we lost on Saturday to do, but it's a decision which has already been made

I think Randy is into Lambert for the long haul, I think there is a tipping point of no return, but we are not there yet, maybe if we lose the next 2 games and go out of the cup to Bradford we might be getting close, but that hasn't happened yet

Ulitimately it comes down to confidence in him securing us in the premier league. Losing on Saturday we'd have lost to our two direct rivals at home in the space of two weeks and suddenly the winnable games start to run out a bit.

A draw wouldn't be a total disaster but it wouldn't be great either as again another realistic opportunity of 3 points dosen't happen. We need 5 wins from somewhere and I'm looking at this game along with Reading, QPR, Fulham and West Ham as the games we need to win to be o.k.

Moussa Sissoko would be perfect.  Benteke like physique, good passer, good positioning, defends well, good engine.  When i said a box-to-box player would be as good a choice as genuine defensive option I had him and M'Vila in mind.

yep. its unwise to take things for granted but you'd have thought Lambert would have this game down as a win at the start of the season. I think southampton would be very pleased with a draw as far as their survival plans go.

It's a six pointer. Why the fcuk haven't we got players in to give ourselves a better chance of winning?

How about a Bid for Gary Jones of Bradford.....at least it might stop him bossing our midfield in the second leg
I like your thinking here. Start discussion by going in heavy get him unsettled and than pull out after the second leg. ;)

Aston Villa have bid rejected for Inter Milan star
By Nick Rostron-Pike
Thursday, January 10, 2013

Aston Villa have had an offer for Philippe Coutinho turned down by Inter Milan, according to the player's agent.

The Brazil star has fallen down the pecking order at the San Siro and spent last season on loan at La Liga side Espanyol.

Southampton have also expressed an interest in the 20-year-old but it appears the Villans were the first to act, although their initial bid was rejected.

Coutinho's agent, Cacau Barbosa, told FC Inter News that a approach was made by the Midlands club, but claimed nothing has been agreed over a possible move to Villa Park.

"I can confirm Aston Villa made an enquiry for Coutinho," he said. "They want him, but with all due respect for the proposal made to Philippe, at this moment there is still nothing concrete to suggest an exit from Inter."

if you have something to say, then say it here.To keep reffering members of this site to rubbish you have said on another site is not etiquette.
By the way, despite the fact that you have a blog does not automaticaly mean that you have anything that is either usefull or interesting to say. I hope you have a day job.Now fuck off

'Arry in for Dunne?

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/qpr-transfers-richard-dunne-of-aston-1528597

Probably the only player in the universe he hasn't been linked with thus far.

The same Dunne that has been injured all season and there is still no news on when he will return? Would suggest there might be other reasons he hasn't featured if clubs are looking to sign him.  I wouldn't have thought clubs would be looking to sign a player with no return from injury date.
